Well, yeah. The Tyson trade is still a really bad trade but this is one is actually good. We're dumping JR's salary and getting back a real asset all for the price of Shumpert.

If the particulars of this trade are us giving up Shump and JR and getting back a future 1st this is an honestly good trade for us. The first good trade we've made in I don't know how long.

Sees word "protected".
true but the thunder are guaranteed to be in the 20s

Sucks the pick is protected. Calderon's contract is an albatross

and if Durant leaves and they are in the lottery we don't even get the pick.
Hopefully it is only top 5 protected or something

Knicks management holding the deal till someone explains what a protected 1st rounder is

Every team located outside of NY protects picks when they trade them. We can't expect every other franchise in the league to act as stupidly as we do.

Shumpert was a worthless RFA gonner anyway

It really is. That's a home run. I hated Shump. He will be like the 9th guy on the Spurs, have two good weeks and guns will scream from the mountain tops we traded the best two player since Ewing. See ya JR. Getting the season woody got from him 2 years ago was his biggest accomplishment

Hate is a strong word. You sure? This is what you said 2months ago...

Readcwhat I wrote. Both players suck. Shumpert sucked less. We should have traded him to okc years ago. I'm sorry your boy got traded. Hey I loved Mosgov. Life goes on. Shumpert had some nice moments but what sticks out the most are all the games he scored zero points and the extended visits on the DL. Thanks but no thanks
yellowboy90 @ 1/5/2015 9:01 PM
As part of three-team deal, Cavs will get a heavily protected future first-rounder from OKC and Knicks will get a 2019 second-round from CLE

I knew it

Woj is still saying the 1st round pick is to NY.

Man this 3-way trade is such a Fresh Ripe Smelly Dump
StarksEwing1 @ 1/5/2015 9:04 PM
Still a good move even though i wanted the pick protected or not. Jr smith had no value and shumpert didnt have much either. At least we gained more cap space

even if we are only getting back a 2nd round pick in 2019?

Cleveland is getting the first, we're getting a 2019 second rounder from the Cavs.

Not the end of the world.

Formulate a better trade for the Knicks and spare me what the Knicks should have done last year. What was the better trade to be had on this day as of 1/5/2015...Go!
