Formulate a better trade for the Knicks and spare me what the Knicks should have done last year. What was the better trade to be had on this day as of 1/5/2015...Go!

Shumpert was a worthless RFA gonner anyway

It really is. That's a home run. I hated Shump. He will be like the 9th guy on the Spurs, have two good weeks and guns will scream from the mountain tops we traded the best two player since Ewing. See ya JR. Getting the season woody got from him 2 years ago was his biggest accomplishment

Hate is a strong word. You sure? This is what you said 2months ago...

Readcwhat I wrote. Both players suck. Shumpert sucked less. We should have traded him to okc years ago. I'm sorry your boy got traded. Hey I loved Mosgov. Life goes on. Shumpert had some nice moments but what sticks out the most are all the games he scored zero points and the extended visits on the DL. Thanks but no thanks

Got it Fish. Your definition of hatred is different than mine

Get over yourself dude

No you get over yourself.

YIKES!!!

Hope Wojo's version is correct.

Woj has rock solid sources but in his recent Yahoo article

He said the trade was fluid, being that Stein has been on point

And did a more recent modification this is headed more so

In a downward trend, Man even if it was a 2018 or 2019 1st

It's a bad deal considering what was once there

Cleveland is getting the first, we're getting a 2019 second rounder from the Cavs.

Not the end of the world.

they keep going back and forth who knows who gets the pick

No YOU get over YOURSELF. seriously dude... I'm close to all caps. I'm talking the whole sentence. You do NOT want to go there.

Surely whoever we draft with the 55th pick in 2019 will be better than Shumpert. SMH
newyorknewyork @ 1/5/2015 9:10 PM
As bad as I wanted the pick. Dumping Jr is more valuable unless we were getting a 2015 first rounder.
yellowboy90 @ 1/5/2015 9:10 PM
All in all its not a bad trade it is just not a great trade. The same people who might complain about this trade are the same ones saying the knicks could not get anything for Shumpert or Jr.

This gives the knicks $25-26M for next year right now.

newyorknewyork @ 1/5/2015 9:10 PM
Now can we package Hardaway and Calderon?

StarksEwing1 @ 1/5/2015 9:10 PM
The pick was heavily protected anyway but we gave away two guys who had no value and gained more room..not bad

Here was a better trade Off To the Races winning running way broke tape first

Shumpert and Felton to Clippers

for

Collison, Reggie Bullock, Matt Barnes

Donald Sterling and Doc Rivers pulled out

Because we were hem hawing between them and the OKC offer

OKC hung up the phone on us after they were offering

1 of their 1st round picks from the 2014 draft

VCoug @ 1/5/2015 9:11 PM
What happens next Summer when we strike out in free agency?
TPercy @ 1/5/2015 9:12 PM
If I am not asking for to much can we get Jason Smith off this team ASAP?

i liked shumpert for a long time but the kid needs a change of scenery maybe. He is injury prone and his offense never developed
BRIGGS @ 1/5/2015 9:13 PM
Dolan wins big on this trade. I think hes going to save like 20mm $ because of luxury taxes. At the end of the day we get rid of JR's salary next year and a 2nd rounder. I can accept that--cap space is important. The deal is good solid.
newyorknewyork @ 1/5/2015 9:14 PM
VCoug wrote:What happens next Summer when we strike out in free agency?

Use the cap space to add assets. Like Gerald Wallace expiring for first round pick, OJ Mayo for first round pick so that Bucks can resign Knight without going heavily over the cap. Javale Mcgee's expiring for first round pick.
