Lance Thomas might be the best thing[in terms of now] from this trade
Although he and Quincy Acy are redundant
Have to hope Kirk doesn't get waived and can be developed into something
Cole probably eats his lunch though

BRIGGS wrote:Dolan wins big on this trade. I think hes going to save like 20mm $ because of luxury taxes. At the end of the day we get rid of JR's salary next year and a 2nd rounder. I can accept that--cap space is important. The deal is good solid.
No this deal is awful, it means we're to grossly
Overpay someone next year and I mean way overpay
Look we needed a pick we could use right away, It's real simple we're rebuilding
There are no free agents that will put us over the top next year
Probably not even a top 8 team
A 2019 pick 2nd rounder is about as irrelevant as it gets
Why are we counting Dolan's pennies now
We used to threaten to match contracts up to a billion dollars
AND IT'S NOT YOUR OUR MONEY
What kind of warped ass logic are you using? PLEASE GTFOH!!! PLEASE! You have no credibility anymore at this point. You can't bitch about a team and then when we clean house and clear even more cap space trash the deal. Make up your damn mind!!!
Why so disrespectful with your language, keep this in mind coming this summer and the rest of this year
My main point is to get a pick much sooner I had my cutoff well before details were mentioned
We need a pick before 2017 END OF STORY
Preferably a 1st if not a couple 2nd rounders
I can't take your constant bitching and negative talk when clearly this team is not doomed to fail. Getting another pick is still something Phil can do if that's what he feels he needs. Not getting a 1st rd pick is not a valid reason to keep this negative tripe going after Phil clears even more cap space. The cap space also makes a trade more possible. We just don't know what Phil will or won't be able to do in FA this year but he's gonna have a lot of money to spend and that's a good thing.
we gave away two players who had no value and gained cap room so it wasnt bad
We took back those 3 players? Are they all expiring contracts or did we take back salary next year?
they will be waived

Thats pretty good. Phil is redeeming himself a little after overpaying for Melo and Calderon

Not bad at all. I am really happy for him
whats with the shumpert boner still? dude is always injured and never improved. why are you "happy" for him? what did he do here that was so great?
Exactly, I don't understand it...

I think they all are on unguaranteed deals and can be waived by Saturday. Kirk has barely played and has spent a lot of time in the dleague. Not sure about Thomas.

It's a C trade. Years past trades usually graded out an F.
I do know one thing though. OKC metrics guys suck and the Cavs pulled off a great deal.
NumberTwoPencil@ 1/5/2015 9:40 PM
Is this the trade?
J.R. Smith and Iman Shumpert to Cleveland Dion Waiters to Oklahoma City Alex Kirk, Lou Amundson, and a protected first-round pick, to the Knicks Knicks waive Samuel Dalembert
That seems like a deal. I mean, five wins is five wins and they may as well sign Jimmy Fallon, Michael Stipe, and Spike Lee.

It's a minor trade, but it's still great to get out of JR Smith's contract.
meloshouldgo@ 1/5/2015 9:42 PM
bye bye JR, don't let the door hit you on the way out - now if we could only trade Melo.

Shumpert, J.R. Smith[who's almost an expiring for Cleveland], future 1st
Think about that for a second

Awful trade for OkC.
Awful for OKC? You think?....They didnt lose anything. Waiters can be a big time shooter off the bench...maybe walk right in and hold down the two spot if Westbrook gets hurt again.
Waiters just needs to realize (quick) that he is not an Alpha dog and play within the role he is given...
