I don't get it, the dude has not even completed a full season as the main man with the Knicks, but it appears that some around here already want to see the dude fired. In my opinion, it is pathetic what some in the media is doing. It seems as if they want for the Knicks to be an elite team right away, without taking into account how bad of a roster Phil inherited.
The dude is being killed for his desire to have the Knicks run the triangle system. Give the dude at least two years before throwing him out of the door.

Because the Knicks are awful and the media needs to stir things up to sell papers and radio ratings one way or another

what we would like to see is flexibility in his plan.
He is a guy that does things his own way and may ignore many years of research and advancement.
If he succeeds with the knicks doing it "his" way, he is a genius.
If he fails, he may coming out looking pretty bad since it had to be his (non conventional) way.

The crash from such heights was inevitable. NYC tabloid media doing what it does best. Dolan can't be the fall guy anymore because it's Phil's show now. Phil's a big boy and he can take it. He deserves some of it in my opinion. Blame the media's Follow the Leader/Pile On tendencies.

Never thought ESPN would be considered tabloid media, but it is what it is when it comes to the Knicks.
NY Daily news are harsh on Phil because of this:
Cablevision and Madison Square Garden have ripped the Daily News and publisher Mort Zuckerman, claiming the paper is engaging in a campaign of “extortion ” to force a merger between the News and Cablevision-owned Newsday.
“Mr. Zuckerman is engaging in a campaign of intimidation and extortion to effect a merger between Newsday and the Daily News,” according to a statement from Cablevision and MSG.
The latest uproar was triggered by a front page story titled “Ticket to Hide,” in which the News claims that the MSG-owned Knicks deliberately hid news of the severity of Jeremy Lin’s knee injury until after the deadline had passed for season ticket holders to purchase playoff tickets.
The Knicks guard who inspired “Linsanity” has a torn meniscus in his left knee and will be out for an extended period of time.
“Today’s story in the New York Daily News is just another in a long list of articles and cover stories designed to provoke Cablevision and the Madison Square Garden Co.,” the companies said in a statement.
Cablevision and MSG are controlled by the family of James Dolan, who serves as the president of Cablevision and executive chairman of MSG.
The companies said that as recently as March 6, at a lunch meeting at the Four Seasons, “Mr. Zuckerman once again made his proposal, this time adding that ‘the bad press would end if we became joint owners’ (a direct quote).”
Dolan said in a statement, “I understand that there will always be those who are critical of anyone who owns a controlling interest in three New York sports franchises. But Mr. Zuckerman’s attempts to parlay this into a favorable arrangement could not be more misguided.”
A spokesperson for the News didn’t immediately return calls. Zuckerman couldn’t be reached at presstime.

When even you yourself admit what you've done is failed, it's safe to say it's obvious enough that the media will be on your case. You don't get away in NY with turning a .500 team into a .200 team. He helped lower the bar a lot though. If he merely brings us back to .500 next year, he'll probably be getting praise.
After so many years of suckage, let's jump on the Jax wagon and have some patience. Isola and Lupica are tards. Always have been and always will be. They are Knicks beat writers trying to make deadline and stoke emotions.

this is what happens when you take a process that takes a few years and look at it after a few months. that's why most new york fans are idiots and most say you can't rebuild here.
The Media is full of miserable SOBs. They thrive with negativity it's easier to write about and makes for headlines. They exude no patience and want to stir the fan base with negativity and cause chaos. They love change they love to build up to tear down. That's what they are doing with Phil Jackson.

There's a lot of space between us and a championship level team. That space is filled by every team in the league except Minnesota actually.
Dolan hired him to build somthing that is sustainable even beyond his Tenure. That takes time and patience.
Also means making mistakes.

Whats he doing? Seems like he tried to get his team to play. For the myriad of reasons we have beat to death, its been seen that was not possible. So you rebuild.

All I know I got my investment accounts and my career in line by making one decision at at time with a long focus on results. Phil didn't seen Tyson here a long time. So he traded him. If thats all some of you got, then I suggest you consider good players are better on really good teams. Its the NBA, Tyson is a good player. Mavs are pretty talented. He looks good. He should. How we think he'd look with Felton, JR, SHump etc. Not pretty.
Knicks are not going anywhere with or without him. Mozgov got traded for picks because he is younger, has a longer deal, better offensive player and the picks are not all they appear to be. Still a good deal, but Tyson was coveted by Cleveland last summer was he? We don't know if he would have been. Get over it.
