Knicks · Who said Okafor is the next Duncan ??? (page 1)

Knicks1969 @ 2/18/2015 9:17 PM
There is no similarity what so ever about the way they play the game. Okafor's activity around the basket is not really that good. He coasts around a lot for a big man; he doesn't really fight for position as he should for a big man. Towns reminds me a lot more of a combo of Garnett/Duncan.
Knicks1969 @ 2/18/2015 9:26 PM
That was a excellent move by Okafor; he needs to do a lot more of that in the post
yellowboy90 @ 2/18/2015 9:28 PM
they have the same nose.
gunsnewing @ 2/18/2015 9:29 PM
All the guy does is score in the post. What exactly are you talking about? lol

His only question marks are conditioning, athletism and quickness to defend NBA bigs

StarksEwing1 @ 2/18/2015 9:31 PM
Who ever said he was the next duncan. Duncan is one of the best big men of all time

He has room for growth

Duncan is a better defensive player. Okafor has more agility and handles. Okafor still needs to develop his jumper. I worry about Okafor's effort level on D.

That move was spectacular. His hand size is another perk. With work he might be able to improve his ball handling skills to create havoc as a Center like Gasol does.

Glad its just his ankle.

Thats because you obviously have never seen Duncan play while he was at Wake Forest.

Not big of a fan as some on this board but he sometimes he does show me flashes of T.Duncan from his College days and now.

Tim wasn't nearly as confident with the ball in freshman year as OK4. Duncan deferred a lot to Randolph Childress that year, from what I recall. But Duncan was light years ahead of OK4 on defense during their freshman years.

Briggs

FistOfOakley @ 2/18/2015 11:38 PM
it was fran fraschilla who compared him to duncan... and no he is not...
holfresh @ 2/19/2015 12:06 AM
OK4 was being doubled..Can't really asses his game when doubled most of the game..
BRIGGS @ 2/19/2015 12:15 AM
Hes not Duncan on the defensive end but he is Duncanesque on the offensive end and I believe he will be a very good rebounder once all is said and done.
Lets be realistic--he had 2-3 guys coming at him every play until the end of the game. When he is 1-1 its simply going to be hard to stop him. I really do think he needs to lose 10-12 pounds and come in at 6-10 260--I think that would really help his help defense which is not exsistant.

You can pencil him in at the 4/5 for the next 10 plus years if he stays healthy. Cornerstone type player.

Because it sounds better than 'the next Al Jefferson'! We're trying to give ourselves hope here in a difficult season!
