Deandre Jordan since Blake has been injured (3 games) has averaged 24pts-22rebs-2blks per game and he is a free agent this off season. All 3 games were wins against Dallas, Houston, and Spurs. He has been dominant(Granted Tyson & Howard didn't play).
He clearly didn't fit in the triangle and I would imagine L.A. is going to give him a max or near max deal this summer; certainly more money and more years than we're able to offer.

If Rodman can fit the triangle though y wouldn't a guy like Jordan? His skill set on offense is getting put backs off offensive rebounds and pick and rolls which we do run within the triangle.

Pass not at the money he will command we will grow very tired of him quickly here just as Tyson. The skill level just isn't there.

Jordan is a 13-14 rebound per game, 2.5blks per game type of guy. Chandler & Dalember aren't comparable to him they have never posted those numbers in there career.

Tyson and Jordan produce at almost the exact same rate actually - Jordan just gets more mpg. If we were to acquire either one next year, I think it would give us back a good portion of the .300 point (at least half) drop in winning percentage that we lost from last year.
I mentioned Dalembert because this offense had him in position trying to make passes and leaving him dead trying to hit mid range jumpers and botched post up plays. DeAndre would be stuck in that role too and he'd be dead in the water. Kid needs to be in a point guard driven offense where he is doing what he's been doing and that's loafing around waiting for the ball to come near the rim.

Nah, Tyson when he got 34-35mins a game he put up 11-12rebs and 1.8blks. Jorday gets close to 14rebs a game while sharing the frontcourt with another 10reb per game PF. While Griffin has been out Jordan has been gettin 22rebs a game. He probably won't average that for the season but he will get 16rebs per game. Tyson won't stay healthy if he is asked to play 35mins a game or more. Jordans pts have also climed to 24. Which would probably realisticaly be 15-16 if the season started this way.

Well Tyson has had stretches of around 20 point, 20 rb games too. But I agree that at this stage in their careers, he can't play as many min as Jordan.

Watching both of them play, Tyson's a better, more intelligent offensive player. He has a better feel of what the defense is doing and is quicker in getting in the right position to make a play. He's also a much better FT shooter: 64% vs 42% for their careers.

I agree with you NY -- he's better than Chandler & Dally. He's an option although I don't think he's coming here. A close friend of Griffin + I don't think they'd want to lose him anyway. Not sure he'd even want to leave -- sunny LA, a exciting/winning team, etc. Probably a no go here but it wouldn't stop me from looking into it if he proved to be our best option. No way am I just writing this guy off. He's somewhere on the list..

Bill cartwright was a 20 pt a game scorer in his career. He was good in Chicago too. Guy could post up shoot, pass and hold his own on both ends of the floor against any center in his day. DeAndre wish he could be bill cartwright.
And Dennis Rodman is an all time great. He did more than just rebound. The guy could hit a free throw at the very least and was a good passer.
You are not sure if DeAndre jordan can do anything in the triangle. Don't throw real basketball players under the bus bbecause you like the way the guy dunks the basketball.

Just curious, but are you saying Cartwright had no offensive skill? Not clear what you mean. Anyway, Bill had a legit post-up game and an unblockable mid-range jumper with a very high release that was pretty accurate. He was plodding and slow overall, but there was finesse in his hands and he knew how to get his shot off. And he could pass. He was a quality center.
The Knicks would thank their lucky stars to have a Cartwright again.
