Knicks · Aleey S (page 1)

The game comes very easy to him--he glides through the game. When you watch him--it doesnt compute that this man has shot 36% in 175 games played in the nBA. I think one thing he didnt do was try to put some muscle tone on his body--hes very frail looking. With his ability to get within 3 feet to the hoop--the extra power would come in very handy. I think with our holes hes someone we go forward with if the price is right. We need players. I think the Knicks must ask him to work this offseason put some muscle on if they want to bring him back for a 2-3 year contract. Its possible his body(specifically power) is the reason why he is shooting 36 and not 46. If he wants to--he can fix that.
EnySpree @ 3/10/2015 10:39 AM
I agree. I've professed my admiration for the guy from day one. I would love for him to stick with the Knicks
NYKBocker @ 3/10/2015 10:39 AM
I really like him too. I think he can be at worst a rotational player. He looks like he has a high BBall IQ and plus he is long. I don't think he will ever get any kind of muscle tone. His shoulders are too narrow.

anyone can gain strength and development on their body. He looks like he doesnt put the effort in. I think strength might be his #1 reason why he hasnt played % better.
EnySpree @ 3/10/2015 10:43 AM
He looks and plays a little like Evil
CrushAlot @ 3/10/2015 10:59 AM
He froze his man and hit a three last night in the first quarter that was pretty sweet.

I don't know. I have seen workout guys that just can't seem to get any definition. Or you can be right...he just might hate working hurt and just likes to play bball. Some of the older players never worked out. Clyde Frazier mentioned he never lifted weights and just ran and played bball. Shved looks like he can run all day.

A back court of Russell and Shved could be nice. Two guys who can handle with excellent vision? Wowwww, nice

Monroe, Lopez, etc can all be obtained via free agency

and guards.
and more athletic guys
and bigs
and guys who can shoot the 3

For someone who starts a topic or two around these parts you should know we need a lot

Shved has promise. There is a lot to like. I like his form, and am often suprised when his shots down fall. I dont know why his FG% sucks. Overall I like him and would resign cheap for sure.

ehehhe, Briggs, you could have just brought this up in the Shveddy Balls thread where you posted:

No hes gone. I think they said hes going back to Russia anyway. Really its a waste to have him but if helps us lose--thats cool.

Glad you came around on the guy. We can hope his shooting % goes up because he looks like a very nice player.

I'll play devil's advocate and say let him be old school thin. He just has to avoid contact, which he does. Contact is not going to prolong a career as many players can attest to. He is certainly deceptive with his moves and gets to the hole at will - I have no idea why he doesn't get more assists - he must be kicking out on those drives, no? Remember, Lin made a living of driving and kicking it out here.

WaltLongmire @ 3/10/2015 11:32 AM
Surprised that he looks so frail. Has the body of a recovering heroin addict who plays bass in a Russian grunge band.

Makes some ill-advised Kamikaze drives to the basket every now and then which are tough for a fan to watch, but when he is under control on offense, he is probably the best PG we have on our roster.

Pleasantly surprised with this guy so far.

I dont think I want to look in a Shveddy Balls type thread. It does not sound enticing. I think Alexey would rather have his name slightly misspelled

TPercy @ 3/10/2015 6:24 PM
Watched his higlight video from last night and everything you said matched it.
One serious question:
How is his defense, I don't watch that many games nowadays but is his D legit?
I'm not asking for Jimmy Butler or Joakim Noah type shit but is he good on D? When I first watched him against Celtics they were blowing by him.
Splat @ 3/10/2015 6:26 PM
So is this Aleey S any relation to Ali G?
nixluva @ 3/10/2015 7:10 PM
I was excited to see Phil bring him in cuz my sons and I were following him when he was with the TWolves, having fun with his name and aggressive style and I thought he had some talent. Some fans and the media disregarded him cuz I don't think they actually knew anything about him. He's always had this kind of skill and confidence but he hasn't been in the right situation. The kid needed a chance to play and hopefully be fully developed both mentally and physically. I agree that if he could get on a program to get stronger it would go a long way towards letting him maximize his talent.
skeng @ 3/10/2015 7:49 PM
Maybe if the game slowed down a little bit for Shveddy, he could become a very solid piece similar to Goran Dragic and how he developed later on. One can hope..

Yeah. People forget that he hasn't really had a chance to develop and get that anxiety out of his system. When you are always trying to prove yourself, sometimes you over do it and with time you start to play more within yourself and you calm down and focus more. That could happen for Shved. We could really use a few of these players to develop into productive rotation players for next year.

CrushAlot @ 3/10/2015 8:14 PM
I like Shved. His qualifying offer is 4 mil and I believe Yellowboy posted that his cap hold is around 6 mil. Will he resign for less?
