Also just like Okafor--we have to discount some let down end of year because of Russell's high usage all year.

Not good enough BRIGGS. I love his ability to see the floor; this video does not do him justice. It portrays Russell as a happy shot maker; which is not all the kid can do

I didnt make the video I just posted it.. I know he can pass. Id like to see what Clyde Frazier thinks about Russell--they are very similar in style.

i need to see this kid go right or finish with a right hand before id pick him over towns, okafor or even cauley stein. lol

I see a lot of Brandon Roy/Jalen Rose in his game. Wish he were two inches taller.

He is a southpaw; he will be difficult to guard on the court. He is deceptively quick; and his ball handling is Magic like. His uncanny ability to shoot the ball in all areas of the court will certainly make up for his lack of athleticism thereof.

Depends on the player. Evan Turner is 6'5" and always gets snuffed in the paint. Dwayne Wade is shorter but finishes at a higher level. Russel isn't the most explosive guy and you have to wonder how he'll operate in the paint.

It will be key for Russell to play PG.

i never questioned his average athleticism, quickness, or shooting. lol...i questioned his non dominant hand. lol. once GOOD teams with NBA talent forced him to go right, he was finished

I think he is better than Mudiay

Russell is a much better shooter than Turner or Wade so he can operate outside the lane and still be deadly. When he does get into the paint, he is an excellent passer and can see a play develop before it happens. Looking at where the game is and where its going, I would be shocked if this dude is not an allstar callibre player....I think other than Ok4, he can have the biggest immediate impact as a rookie....

Russell is only 19 years old. Once he gets to the next level, he'll gain strength and experience. I envision him to be the PG of the future. A Curry-lite if you will. If the Knicks are not in the top 2 picks, he is definitely in the running.

I see him as a Curry-full, not Curry-lite. I remember it was Curry's lack of athleticism that would render him a nice guard in the NBA, maybe a 6th man, but he would always struggle. Pa-lease.
I think Russell ends up being the best player in this draft and I hope he lands in our laps. I understand why others will get picked ahead of him, but part of me hopes we fall to 3 and get him.

There's just something about him- would you play him as PG or SG ?

Russell is the guy I want the most in this draft. Really hope we get him.

My sentiments exactly....

If we did get Russell, what free agents would you put around him? I think it's tougher than with Towns, because you have to fill 2 front court positions, and They tend to be more expensive. That's my only concern regarding drafting him.

SG... I want him in the offense, not starting it. He's the perfect triangle SG. That jumper is soo good and he needs so little space to get it off. You see why Curry is unguardable. Its not that he blows by you (both players can) its that if you step back just a a bit to guard against the dribble he's pulling up and draining a jumper before you get your feet set. I really think he's the star in this draft.
He could play PG if needed, but I dont want that pressure on him, and I dont want him running and dummied down offense. He's a very smart player though, hard to envision him struggling with any role to be honest.

one would think... but we have seen how our poor guard play translates into iso play from the frontcourt among other things. What I covet about DR is he's a true facilitator. He plays the right way. He is quite happy dropping jumper after jumper on you like he's shooting in the gym. When you start swarming and closing he goes by you. Double him he will find the open man. He moves the ball quickly. He's a guy bigs will love playing with because he will create easy opportunities for them.
