Meh. Lebron would beat the Hawks on his own. Bulls always find a way to beat themselves.

Will this affect his next contract? This is exactly the reason why I can't blame Melo for not waiting to become a FA when he was on Denver. There are no guarantees and you need to take max money when you can.
Look at Wes Mathews ... he is screwed!
Melo did what any of us would have done.
Let's recruit Mathews here at a lower market price. I bet it worth a risk.
I kinda feel it'd be Kelenna Azubuike 2.0. Matthews was a superior player but Kelenna came from a similar background and was just starting to assert himself as a NBA player when he got injured. After that, he was never the same again and also never heard from.

Yeah, that's who I thought of too. I really wanted to sign him most of the season, but now it's just not worth the risk.
don't get the comparison. Wes is a premiere shooter.

Yeah, I agree. I still see the Cavs as the favorite to get out of the East. Can't see them beating the Spurs or Warriors or Grizzlies without Love though.

The comparison was more to do with what happened to them, though both started as good defenders who improved their shooting. Azubuike got injured and never recovered, unfortunately. Another player who suggests caution regarding Wes is Brand- didn't he also tear his achilles? They have a very bad recovery rate for nba players (though they often happen late in players careers, which may have some bearing).
