With what happened to Ferry and Sterling you would think that Isiah would be run out of town. Liberty players have been put into a tough spot. Maybe the players union in the wnba takes a stand. Someone needs to.

You would think I.Thomas was out murdering babies or something. Who cares if he was re-hired to coach the liberty. Good for him.
That whole A.Browne was bullsh1t anyway.

Whats next, an extension for Billy King as GM of Nets?

Billy King Could Be Close To Extension With Nets
Billy King could be on the cusp of signing a contract extension with the Brooklyn Nets.
King became general manager of the Nets in 2010.
The front office dynamics of the Nets appears to be in some level of turmoil as they did not pick up their option on the contract of Bobby Marks. Marks has been with the Nets for 20 years and is expert on cap matters.
I knew this as I wrote my post yesterday. Many times I have taken a position that when an owner drives a decision he owns it and won't throw his exec under the bus. IN fact, if the Exec takes the task and attempts to execute while making the point its not the correct course the GM gains further respect. This is I believe what happened in Washington with Grunfeld letting his owner know that a youth only rebuild can be problematic. When they bought in veteran leadership 2 years ago it marked a turnaround there. Billy King I doubt has the decision making to spend and cause tax havoc on the franchise with either the blessing of the owner, or more likely the owner is was driving the decision to starphuch and make a grab for NY market share when it entered brooklyn.
Bobby Marks not coming back could be for many reasons not disclosed. We can't just assume this guy was golden and evil has forced him out. It could be as simple as a guy wanting to leave and thus was not renewed by his request. Maybe there are articles that expand on this?
Im not here to say "Billy king did a good job" but in light of Isiah's return to MSG it need be discussed that Dolan in my mind empowered Isiah with a directive that defined his tenure. What if Dolan said "Keep it in the cap and rebuild with youth"? "How ever long it takes, lets create something". Or "OMG, this place is dead and I want to renovate so keep bringing in talent that excites!!! REVENUE IS THE KEY!!!". Thus, Dolan holds himself responsible. Now, please understand I think Isiah is the scum of the earth but there has to be reason why Dolan remained loyal to him other than Dolans characteristic of being very attached to some people.
I don't like Isiah anywhere near the knicks but I am suspicious that Isiah has rehabilitated himself from what I don't know and Dolan just is drawn to giving guys a second chance. Its kind of endearing really. But we talking about Isiah.
For now, Phil's in charge and until he is not Im not gonna worry about it. Until isiah is no longer of this earth his resurrection was/is always possible.
nothing quite like a wealthy madman.

I have always thought the best move for the Nets were to do the anti-Knick thing when they moved...So many fans were dissatisfied with the constant starphuck with the Knicks..They might have been able to draw fans just on starting something new and fresh..They should have rebuilt and would have gotten lucky if they picked Liliard..I was always surprised at the way Dolan defended Isiah during that Annucha Brown scandal, he could have just settled initially without making a big splash of it..Then when NBA TV hired Isiah, I thought there might be more to the story than we know..My thinking is why would the NBA allow Isiah near their brand given the sensitivities of the day when it comes to women issues in the workplaces and particularly sexual harassment...Maybe I'm over thinking this..
Is this Dolan sticking his toe in the waters again with meddling hiring Isiah so close to the draft, hanging around MSG..Dolan thinks Isiah knows young talent..Maybe he can help Phil??..who knows??..Gotta to say it's strange but then again, it's Dolan..
There is a fox in the hen house. Watch out.
All in all it was a bad move by the Knicks PR as long as everyone knew this would be sensitive and will provoke this kind of discussion about that.
Bad move by PR.
gunsnewing wrote:Where is Straightshot?
where all the rest of the madmen are.
Isiah is back and the man who first hired him is Phil's GM. Dolan does this right before the NBA draft. If the WNBA board says no to Isiah, look for him to be hired as a "special advisor" again, but this time it will stick because there is no conflict of interest with the NCAA this time. Isiah will say "gee I was really looking forward to being a part of the WNBA family but its great to be back with the Knicks in some capacity." At this point it will be Isiah, Mills, and Phil. Whats wrong with this picture? Phil wants his money, but he has enough FU money to walk away early (maybe very early) and most fans I'm guessing will understand, considering.
Really hope it doesn't go down this way but it wouldn't surprise me if it did.

Phil still carries his cred and might still be Dolans favorite. Isiah running the Liberty is a stepdown.
Isiah had a pretty good eye in the draft and if he is part of the process that is Gabriel, Warkentin, Gaines and Phil then thats ok.
HolFrsh, I think the typical NY fans wants it starphuch and is not inclinded to be excited about a rebuild or yooth movement. Look at us, are we typical? How many of us buy tickets or support the team beyond cable?
Im not calling anyone out as less than good fans, but Celebrity row is not about rebuild. Dolan won for years without winning a champoinship. Nets I thought put a pretty darn good on paper team and with Pierce and Garnet in support roles I thought had a good chance. We can talk about Sam Hinkie all day with what they are doing in Philly but you don't do that without the owners blessing! I think they are "Mad" but you know making big bets like they are might be the blueprint for a championship build. Norlens looks better than average and Embiid is Eddy Curry but thats today's look. They have a plan and its facinating to see if they can pull it off. The MCW trade with Milwaukee was interesting.
Nets biggest mistake was putting the franchise in the hands of Deron Williams. If one themselves back when they made that trade he was a top 5 PG in the league and while a dyck (not the only one), he had the talent.
Giving up the picks for Pierce and Garnett was a very high price but In retrospect the Heat were ripe for the taking last year if all the pieces fell where they were suppose to. Williams was not right physically and mentally, If Garnett could get inside Blatches head and let himself be mentored and Bropez healthy they had a shot. Teletovic can play and Bogdonich (this year a good pick up) made up for lack of picks.
Bottom line is the window was opened but opportunity instead flew out. Nets have a tough summer ahead. Its evident this core group is not going to elevate. Joe Johnson seemingly is aging out.
I'd try to move Bropez to the lakers. Nothing to do with Johnson as his contract is massive. If Deron can return to form they could get 75 cents on the dollar next season via trade. Those picks to Boston is a killer. Thad young trade was brilliant if they resign him. Next to Bropez they looked real good together.
Somehow Joe Johnson ends up in Dallas. Just seems like the thing that happens!
if y'all think this doesn't contribute to making the Knicks a laughingstock in the league and scare away free agents, I don't know what to tell you. Dolan is somehow sabotaging the Knicks while not even making Knicks-related moves.
