i have to admit i NEVER expected we'd draft lower than 3rd. im in panic mode now. lol. but i need a realistic plan to feel good again
1. draft winslow (i dont think mudiay fits the triangle)
2. trade down with another team - but who?
BRIGGS, RonRon, Finestrg...i need your "think-outside-the-box" plans!!!
someone talk me off the ledge!!!
(sorry for the drama. lol)
dude!
first start respecting yourself.
Agree trade with the Kings or Boston or Indiana
Wait for the bloody workouts to begin!!!
You make plans AFTER you do your due diligence and work out all the players you might take at 4, or trade down for.
The process is just beginning. We pretty much know for sure that OK4 and Towns will be gone, and we think Russell will go to Philly, but who knows what ends up happening, and who might drop down to us.
Well Get ready for a Knicks/Hornets trade:
NY sends- 4th pick, Calderon, and future 2nd
Cha sends - 9th pick, Stephenson, 39th pick, and 2016
1st protected
Charlotte will get to draft Winslow or maybe pair Stein with Jefferson.

Go find your girlfriend or wife and get some booty put on Seinfeld at 11 and then go to sleep.

hahahaha. im watching this exciting houston game. im just trying to make light of the situation since im disappointed. its not the end of the world. but i think im more shocked than disappointed. i really never thought we;d draft lower than 3...so im trying to think of what the knicks should do..smh

I have a lot of sauces.
Just a gut feeling. I actually wouldn't be made at that if Jim Buss doesn't shock the World and take Mudiay 2 as the Kobe heir apparent.
I would gladly pass on Mudiay, Winslow, and Stein to get the Hornets pick this year and a draft pick next year for taking Lance. Maybe Kristaps fall or I can take Johnson and play him as a more athletic Draymond Green. He'll likely be bigger than Green it will come down to his ability to want to defend bigger players.

+1. I'm a bit intrigued by Noah Vonleh though and his ability to become a meaningful player. Whatever trades I make, I'd push to include him as well. That might be a stretch though given the value we'd have to offer.

+1 again. Getting rid of Calderon should be secondary to maximizing our cache of assets. Now that the dust has settled, I think the proper course of action would be to trade down to further this end. And a team like the Hornets are run poorly enough for us to disproportionately benefit from a trade with them.
I'd prefer to blow it up and trade Melo but here's my plan based on keeping Melo.
Draft Winslow 4th. He starts at the 3 and Melo at the 4. Target either Koufos or Ajinca in free agency, don't really care which one, should probably cost $9M-ish of our $26M available. Either of them starts at 5. Target Biyombo at about $6M. Worst case scenario he's a very good defensive big on the bench. Best case scenario he turns into Marcus Camby. That leave about $11M in cap space. Tell Jimmy Dolan to go fuck himself and try to bring in Lin for around $5M or $6M. Throw the rest of our money at Lou Williams or Mo Williams.
Not really interested in Monroe who seems like a good stats on a bad team kind of guy. Like Shareef Abdur Rahim. Definitely not interested in Rondo who hasn't had a single positive moment on the court in 3 seasons. I like Tobias Harris but not at the money it will take to get him away from Orlando. Don't expect anything from Thanasis.
That gives us a lineup of
PG: Lin
SG: Galloway
SF: Winslow
PF: Melo
C: Ajinca/KoufosBench: Biyombo, THJr, Lou/Mo Williams
That gives us a very diverse lineup that allows us to match up with a lot of different teams. We can go big with Koufos/Ajinca and Biyombo up front, Melo @ 3, and Winslow @ 2. We can go super small with Lin-Williams-Galloway-Winslow-Biyombo. That's a team good enough offensively and defensively to be a top 4 or 5 team in the crappy East.

Unless he demands one. That's a legit possibility if we suck again next season, also a legit possibility. Then we get to experience what Orlando and Toronto went through with Dwight and Vince.

He shares agents with Dolan's fucking band. If he wants out he'll get out.

carmelo isnt being traded and he doesnt want to be traded
