He needs to ask JB to have the Lakers select Russell if Towns is not on the board which would force Philly to select another player because they already have a plethora of bigs, and Knicks could then turn around and draft Okafor and exchange him to the Lakers for Russell. This trade would benefit both franchises

you notice that i said philly would pick okafor in that scenario... why would they not pick the best player available and then try to fleece lakers or knicks or both for another future first rounder?

The Lakers were very much into the young big man Philly selected last year. I am sure a deal can be made between the two teams if that is the case.
Another scenario would be for Towns to refuse to go to Minnesota. A lot of lottery players have refused the teams that drafted them in the past; why not now?
He needs to ask her to trade OK4 and Kobe's expiring for Melo (persuading her she can then sign Love and Rondo or whatever)

I would love for the Knicks to start all over and trade Carmelo, but it is impossible now. Lakers and the Knicks need to work together and help each other to improve.

Why not? He has a 3-5 year window to win a chip in his prime. That is not going to happen in NYC. If he stays, he basically concedes that he will not win a chip in his prime. He might get one as table scraps from a contender at the very end of his career...but I don't think that would float his boat.
In some ways, LA getting the #2 could be a positive for NY if Melo changes his tune. Kobe+Melo+Rondo=ego shit show, but they are all buddies, so why not?

he would if they sign Love and Rondo. They then have Randle as their C. It would mean taking back Kobe's expiring- I would see if we could get Randle too for doing them that favor, but I'm desperate! Randle and OK4 for melo would be a dream come true.
Let's wait and see what other blunder this front office and coaching staff will commit during the next month. I simply don't trust any if them to make the correct decision.

They likely lose their pick next year (only top 3 protected), and broken down Kobe and a combo of Randle and OK4 (who aren't really compatible), do not a very good team make. OK4 will be nice to build on, but I can see them getting impatient and considering a starphuck (especially as OK4 and Love wouldn't make a good combo due to lack of defense)

The 76ers will take the best value off the board at 3. If it's a big, it's a big. What's the worst they can do? Trade one of their existing bigs for a king's ransom?
Philly has the asset based war chest to pick any of these guys and still aim for later in this draft, or a future draft or jump into any trade they want.
I agree, however, they may be in love with Russell
If we come out if this draft without Russell or Towns, we will be screwed for the next 20 years.
Phil MUST get one of those two guys. I don't care what he does to make it happen.
