As much as I want to see such a blessing, This will never happen. Russell is much more NBA READY, Philly will not pass on him if he is available
Wow that would shake things up. I don't believe Philly would pass on Russell and take Mudiay but if they did that would change Phil's thinking IMO. Even tho he may love the idea of taking a big, Russell might be a gift if he fell to 4. I'd have no problem with that result. I'm just not convinced that Philly is that high on Mudiay.
if he drops, its because the sixers think he's better- not sure how that is luck for us unless they judge wrong.

Well one thing about Mudiay is that he's a real PG. He actually can make all the passes and has great anticipation. He's also more athletic and stronger physically. Perhaps that might play into it. I suppose it could happen and i'm sure Phil is ready to pounce should that happen. I think it would be hard to pass on Russell if he was there to take. I personally think he really wants WCS but not if Russell was there. That would be almost impossible to sell to the fans.
We arent that lucky, Russell will most likely get drafted before Mudiay, wish I was wrong.

I tend to think Mudiay is more of a pure PG. That being said with S Curry playing like this and Russell being the closest thing to him, it would be highly surprising
A pass first tyreke Evans type of build

They drafted MCW then got rid of him. They drafted Embiid who may have injury issues and they complained about his attitude and work ethic and explored trading him at the deadline. They have not proven to have great talent evaluation yet.

Yup- all this Steph Curry stuff will make Russell look even more attractive to teams.
If Philly take Mudiay and leaves Russell doesn't that mean they took the better prospect? Or is it just to close between the two. Any way you look at it the Knicks will get a good player with great potential to become something bigger.

I see Mudiay/Russell as the PG version of Towns/Okafor... you can make a legit case as to why one should get drafted over the other
I will say this: I was super impressed with Russell's game in the tourney and I put a ton of stock into that
I would definitely take Russell. Mudiay is going to need more time to develop imo. Maybe he is a better playmaker off the dribble but Russell is no slouch and he is a heady player. Plays with his head which is what Phil is looking for in players. More Mentally developed. Still pissed we blew our chance at Towns/OK4 who would've fit the triangle to a tee. Now the question is do we go for talent and scrap the triangle or what? Typical Knicks. No indentity. No direction
Maybe Mudiay will wow the Sixers in workouts, but I'd be shocked.
This is why I hope the Knicks don't promise any one though. There is a chance something crazy happens like Okafor slips or Russell slips. It's a very very very very small chance, but if it happens, you don't want to be sitting at 4 with a promise to Winslow or something.
Winslow might be a better pro then all those guys sans Towns

you can say the same for 10 guys but still so glad we won those crucial games

Same here. If Russell is on the board at four, the Knicks will be destined to be great for at least 10 years. Have you all ever watched or listened to this kid speak? He is a true leader athis young age.

there is less than a 5 percent chance of this happening but hey, if sports illustrated and others want to sell in NY, what the heck.

It's just too close between the 2. And they are completely different types of players so it makes it even harder to judge. It really just comes down to preference.

I would be happy with either Russell or Mudiay. The Knicks will be a far better team with a real playmaker at the 1.
