So I have looked through like 5 or 6 pages worth of posts and haven't found anything like this. If this is redundant pls lock it and I apologize.
Now that we know that we are picking 4th I think it's time to make some predictions.
NAME YOUR STARTING 5 for us next year:
PG -Shved
SG- D. Carrol
SF- Melo
PF- Monroe
C- WCS or Porzingis ( not ready to hang my ass out there on this one, perhaps someone else might be more sure about this one
)
I think we can go to war with this setup. Nice mix of O and D. We would own the glass. We could cut to the basket or shoot. We would have an above average passing Triangle setup. All major components of the Triangle would be covered.
PG=Calderon
SG=Galloway
SF=Melo
PF=Monroe
C=Bargnani
Bench
Mudiay
Hardaway
Cole Aldrich
Amundson
33 wins or bust!

It's a start and i would choose Porzingis over WCS and He'd be playing the 4 and Monroe would be at the 5.
PG--Calderon/Shved
SG--J.Winslow/Gallo
SF--Melo/T.Harris
PF--T.Harris/Melo
C--G.Monroe

Ok, not bad. Couple of things I would like to address.
1. I like Monroe as at PF. But where is our price for being the laughing stock this season? Where is the pick that we need as a starter at # 4? Mudiay on the bench is no good. Better let Mudiay be the starter and let Calderon tutor him and shore up our bench PG duties. Maybe Calderon to start games and let Mudiay get most of the minutes and be de facto starter?
2. We have some great shooting with your starters, but very little D, only Galloway. And no spark in our second unit. Also Galloway as as backup gives us some resemblance of d in the backcourt.
3. We would have money left over from signing only Monroe. We need more d-fence in the starting line up.
My 2 cents
pg - galloway
sg - winslow
sf - melo
pf - monroe
c - aldrich/bargnani
bench
shved/calderon, hardaway/crowder, withey

Alright, first things first. Tobias Harris is an incredible find for the triangle. A great option to stretch the d. His 3p shooting has taken an insane lift over the last two years. And he is a good passer to boot. I really like him. The question is how is his D. With those starters only Winslow is a credible defender, I am afraid that woun't do. But that's an offensive lineup to behold. Very interesting.

I would love if the Knicks got Crowder. What is the reasoning behind Withey? I don't remember much about him.
he's a great shot blocker but a bit thin... i like him a lot since he's been buried on i think the pelicans but he deserves a shot at some playing time...

This lineup I am somehow very attracted to. Great two way backcourt, great rebounding and scoring frontcourt. Only issues are the passing and perhaps not enough D from the big men.

I will like to add that unless Harris and Monroe take a pay cut this will not happen. They would have to take around $12M. While not a small line up the defense and shot blocking will be seriously below average unless Harris steps up(possible but I wouldn't predict it).
Personally, I'd rather have Koufos instead of Monroe.
i think aldrich is fine... we don't have many options if we're going to max one player out in FA... if we choose monroe we're going to have to go with a 3-headed center rotation with monroe shifting over to C sometime...
the triangle in itself makes for a lot of creative options without having to put the ball on the floor too much which is one of it's greatest strengths.... cole aldrich... COLE ALDRICH had a 1.27 a/to last year.... which is a minor miracle...
it's going to rely heavily on melo, monroe and winslow for scoring... bargs, shved, crowder off the bench.. it's not the greatest lineup but people forget if we're bringing back shved and bargs and maxing out monroe... we don't have much left after all of that...

Honestly, i don't want Bargs back at any deal,not even the vets min. He is a minus out there 4 times out of 5. I want 5v5 , not 4v6. That's given as much as his skills fit the triangle. I, honestly, thought he would resurrect his career,but oh well.
yea im with you... but i think phil likes him because he can shoot and he does have range out to 3p land... so even though i don't like him.. he is probably back...

Well, where is the priced #4 pick? Don't get me wrong, Aldrich could pass for a starting center in the Triangle. Maybe.
Monta Ellis is intriguing, but if Aldrich is your best starting defender you are asking for trouble IMHO.

Who would you have the Knicks get in the draft?
PG: Mudiay or Russell
SG: Carroll
SF: Green
PF: Melo
C: WCS via draft day trade
Instead of over paying Monroe.....over pay Carroll and Green from GS.
Lead guard....two way players at ever position. Defensive anchor. Melo leads the league in shot attempts. Everybody is happy, except for BRIGGS!
If WCS is not available then any defensive big at the end of 1st round.

WELL I HONESTLY DONT KNOW, BUT HOW ABOUT WE GIVE THE CELTICS THE 4 PICK FOR THE 16 AND 28 PICKS AND MAYBE A 2ND ROUND PICK NEXT YEAR. THEN WET I DUNNO ROBERT UPSHAW AND JERIAN GRANT OR JORDAN MICKEY AND TERRY ROZIER LIKE THAT SHORE UP OUR BENCH.

We aint winning more than 20 games if that is the case. Worst defensive backcourt in history.

This looks really sweet, but how did we get WCS unless you have us parting with a future 1st rounder?
