Saw this on Reddit but have no idea how much truth to it or even what we would be giving up to get him.

He said it on his show, Wednesday. I caught it on Fox1. The way he said it, made it sound like he got from somewhere (newspaper, online, etc,). Didn't sound like he got it directly from an agent or anything...could be wrong though...
FistOfOakley @ 6/5/2015 8:54 PM
this is going to be the mcdyess draft all over again... lol...

Francesa is kind of a low level source for anything Basketball. If this was a baseball rumor it would seem more believable coming from Francesa. It could be true but just sayin.

But Francesa does sources in New York for sure so you never know and T.Lawson seems like the type of PG Phil would want cause his strong suits are his passing and getting to the basket.
H1AND1 @ 6/5/2015 9:07 PM
Ugh. That would be a disaster. Trade our first high pick in years for a perennially injured PG. Double frigging ugh.
FistOfOakley @ 6/5/2015 9:12 PM
i'm pretty sure if it was discussed it's something like ty lawson #7 pick for calderon and #4... which knowing phil might be enticing to him...

that is not a good trade tho...

Anyone else nervous??..I'm very nervous..

I don't really see Phil being into a short no defense PG like Ty Lawson. Phil like big and long PG's if he can help it. He can choose exactly what he wants now as the top man. I just don't see it.

That's not that bad of a trade really unless Okafor or Russell falls to 4. You still get a lottery pick and dump Calderon. Now when it comes to the triangle it sucks because lawson is a high pnr guard.

Not only the fact that Lawson doesn't fit the current offense but still the idea of having to give up assets to move pieces you don't want..Its how we got Calderon in the first place..We can't give up the 4th for Lawson..We really tanked for Lawson?..Denver was trying to move him desperately at the deadline..
nixluva @ 6/5/2015 9:43 PM
All the Knicks have been talking about is fit for the system and with the players they expect to bring in. I don't see how this would make any sense. Lawson needs to stay in Denver if they bring in MDA. He doesn't fit here in this system IMO. I think this is not a very likely rumor.
franco12 @ 6/5/2015 9:44 PM
If Denver is going to hire MDA- no way they trade Lawson- just think he'd be perfect for MDA.

I would take Lawson & pick 7 for THjr as a salary dump!

FistOfOakley @ 6/5/2015 9:44 PM
lawson is just not the right pg... #7 is also not a good place in the draft... it could conceivably be both just out of range of winslow and stein... not that i'm too thrilled with stein as a potential pick... the kaminsky, johnson, turner, porzingis area of the draft is not something i would be too thrilled with moving down to...

You're already saying Ugh and you don't even know what the trade would be.

So Lawson and dropping down 3 picks which we would still get one of WCS, Winslow, Kaminsky, Porzingis for our #4 pick and getting rid of Calderon and his contract isn't a good trade?? Hmmmmmmmmm that's a thinker to me and a trade i'd probably do.

The only thing that makes sense is Lawson and pick #7 to NY for Calderon and pick #4

I think people on this message board talk more about fits and the triangle system more than we hear it coming out of the Knicks. Fisher has said many times that he's not gonna run the triangle all the time and there will be other things they will run. The funny thing is i could see Phil signing a player and people on here saying he doesn't fit the system but the king of the triangle signed the guy so i think he knows what fits and what doesn't fit. LOL

If this dude ends up in NY, I will be devastated. We need to stay as far away from Denver as possible

Any pick 5-9 lands onr of the guys we talked about at 4.....its like we are still picking at 4.....and getting a vet PG.....while getting rid of Calderon. ....i see nothing wrong with that. But i doubt it happens.
