So Lawson and dropping down 3 picks which we would still get one of WCS, Winslow, Kaminsky, Porzingis for our #4 pick and getting rid of Calderon and his contract isn't a good trade?? Hmmmmmmmmm that's a thinker to me and a trade i'd probably do.
Any pick 5-9 lands onr of the guys we talked about at 4.....its like we are still picking at 4.....and getting a vet PG.....while getting rid of Calderon. ....i see nothing wrong with that. But i doubt it happens.
We're assuming they would take Calderon. If MDA becomes their coach pretty sure he would not want Calderon, or do anything to help us out...
BUT- You figure MDA would want really want Mudiay at 4 if he was their coach and Mudiay was still there, so maybe he would do it.
So now we're trading our #4 pick just to dump Calderon. That would be an EPIC fail by Jax IMO. I would have a hard time forgiving him for effing up that badly.
What is so friggin hard to understand about BPA? Sheesh.
I wanted Lawson after Curry went one pick before us
If we trade with Denver I'd prefer Faried

That dude (Lawson) is not a PG.

If we got Kaminsky and moved down 3 spots to swap Calderon for Lawson--thats not bad at all.

Yeah, the downgrade from Lawson to Calderon is a million times bigger than the downgrade from 4 to 7 in this draft.
Lawson just averaged 10 assists and 2.5 turnovers a game. That's amazing.
Denver: #4 pick, Calderon, and THjr
Ny: #7, Faried, & 2016 1st
who says no?

im not a fan of faried at all. highly overrated even tho nyc would love him
2016 draft will be as bad as the knicks will be next season
so id say no

did you mean upgrade?
No, I meant the downgrade we're forcing them to make at PG is a million times bigger than the one we have to make in the draft in this trade.

I agree. On a side note, I hate that he has the afternoon commute hours. I can only pick up the Fan in my car from October through March but I have a hard time listening to Francessa.

okay a downgrade for them. got u.
newyorker4ever wrote:H1AND1 wrote:Ugh. That would be a disaster. Trade our first high pick in years for a perennially injured PG. Double frigging ugh.
You're already saying Ugh and you don't even know what the trade would be.
Because I don't want Lawson period. He's played over 80 games in exactly one season as a pro and he's not a good 3 point shooter.
I don't want to trade the pick, at all. Period. I don't care what we may get in return because I'm sure we'd get screwed based on our history and phils trading skills and history so far don't inspire confidence. I'd much rather keep the pick and pray Mudiay or whoever becomes a cornerstone.

Faried is the sticking point. He has a big contract and I don't think he is worth the money. I guess moving Calderon helps.

Close your eyes.....pick anybody going 5-9 and i guarantee you will pick the BPA.

offensive rebound machine and he is really only costing the knicks $5m if Calderon was dumped, less than $4m when you include THjr
lawson wouldn't be too much of an upgrade... he has the jr smith lifestyle... he doesn't take practice seriously either...
i don't get why ppl think he's good... he's league average by pg standards these days and if you account for defense he's probably a bit worse than that...
and faried's contract is even worse... he does ok boardwork.. very little else... he's a good energy guy and a fringe starter but ugh... none of the denver players besides nurkic entices me...
