Hell yeah I'd do that too. Push it and see if you can swap Calderon for Lawson on top of that

Nurkic had a good year and really showed promise. I would definitely do this deal but i'm it'd be nice if Phil could find a way to get another draft pick out of this deal.

WaltLongmire @ 6/24/2015 2:43 PM
Is this one based on Russell being available or is Mudiay also acceptable to them?

Intriguing trade.

Have not seen Nurkic play, but I think Briggs has talked about him a lot.

How to folks see him as a player?

Might be looking at Kaminsky or Winslow at 7, I would think.

BRIGGS @ 6/24/2015 2:44 PM
I love Nurkic I thought he was a top 5 draft pick last year before draft. he IS hurt right now and the injury is reasonably bad. But he is super young and talented.

What kind of injury?

Would people still do this if Russell was available?

Is Nurkic a starting 5? If so, I'd say it looks like our pick would be Winslow.

You dont think we can find a Winslow in the D league?

yellowboy90 @ 6/24/2015 2:52 PM
If they take Calderon and add Green I'd think about it.

No, I'd take Russell. But I might do this trade instead of Mudiay or Zinger.

Jusuf Nurkic Undergoes Successful Surgery
Posted: May 20, 2015

DENVER, May 20, 2015 –Denver Nuggets center Jusuf Nurkic has undergone successful surgery to repair a partially torn left patellar tendon, General Manager and Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations Tim Connelly announced today.

The Surgery was performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache at the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Los Angeles, CA this afternoon.

Nurkic averaged 6.9 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.10 blocks in 62 games (27 starts) this season and was recently named to the NBA’s All-Rookie Second Team

Is getting someone with left patellar surgery for a swap of high picks, really a chance worth taking? I mean he is a big man to boot.
I do like him, but health has to be a huge factor here.

I don't know him well enough to form an opinion, but the injury concerns me. Knowing the Knicks history, I wouldn't risk it.

Jusuf Nurkic had successful surgery to repair a partially torn left patellar tendon on Wednesday.
An earlier timetable says Nurkic will miss the next 3-4 months, so he should be ready for camp. The Nuggets may look to address their frontcourt with the seventh pick in the draft, which could potentially hurt Nurkic's numbers. He averaged 6.9 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.10 blocks in 62 games this season.

Jusuf Nurkic will undergo knee surgery in Los Angeles on Wednesday, and he is expected to be sidelined for 3-4 months.
This news comes out of nowhere, as this is the first we are hearing about a knee issue. Nurkic is dealing with a slight tear of the patella tendon, but it isn't clear when he suffered the injury. This means that Nurkic will miss Eurobasket this summer with the Bosnian national team, but hopefully he will be ready in time for training camp with the Nuggets. Nurkic had a decent rookie season with averages of 6.9 points, 6.2 boards and 1.1 blocks in 17.8 minutes per game, but he will need to learn how to stay out of foul trouble. We will monitor his progress very closely this summer, so keep an eye on the injury report.

Jusuf Nurkic scored 17 points with nine rebounds, two assists, one steal, one block and five turnovers against the Warriors on Wednesday.
He played just seven minutes on Monday, which basically sums up his season. We saw Nurkic post some massive numbers at times, but his coaches always seemed to keep the doghouse open for him. The Nuggets might draft a big man, which would hurt Nurkic's upside.

Yeah he's definitely a starting 5.

Trading the #4 for Nurkic and then nabbing Hezonja with the #7 pick just became my dream scenario.

Well, it's not a ligament. But the Patella is a sketchy place to have an injury. Might be awhile before we would really know what we got in him.

Will, it's not a ligament. But the Patella is a sketchy place to have an injury. Might be awhile before we would really know what we got in him.

Yeah, but I don't trust the Knicks to correctly scout the injury. We've screwed this up a bunch of times now. I'd rather they just avoid it, because their judgment in this area is historically poor.

I can't say with a healthy Nurkic that that doesn't sound great. Hezonja might be a star.

I was hearing that Hezonja might not be a good fit with Melo. Thoughts on this?
