Winslow to me was the safe pick - and that's probably why he dropped. At 4, I want to get more than 'just a starter'

Porzingis is a swing for the fences, change the fortune of the franchise for 10+ years - and that is what you need out of 4.

I'm ok with Phil if Porzingis is out of the league in 3-4 years and Winslow is having a steady career. He tried, gambled and lost. But at least he rolled the dice.

Where it hurts most is the fact that we don't own our own pick next year - and that is not on Phil. If we had our own pick, I think people would be freaking out just a bit less.

hard to picture that bad an outcome unless PK gets hurt. At 19 he put up Karl Town's numbers against men, not 6'7 kids from small programs who will never go pro.

One thing you read in every scouting reports is KP's quickness and ability as a help defender. You know he can shoot. You know he can dunk and is pretty explosive.

love his shooting. Just needs to bulk up a little

Fish(mike, not derek) brought up the comparison to Tayshun Prince - thinking back, he never bulked up- and i certainly never thought he could have been nearly as effective as he was.

I think we might (hoping) be surprised by what Porzingis gives us.

Great pick for Miami..They are hoping to build a foundation with Bosh and Winslow to attract Durant in 2016...I think a lot of people miss the boat on this kid, including us...

which is why I can see PK as a top 5 NBA player in a few years. What does it is his athletic ability. Knicks and Phil had him in for a private workout, and while he had cramps and didnt finish he DID finish the athletic testing portion which resulted in Phil's eye opening athlete comments.

If Prince was 6'9 with a 7'2 wingpan and as effective as he was, how would you feel about a similar player who was 7'1 with a 7'6 wingpan and a more developed offensive game and more strenth and more altheticism? In todays no position NBA this guy could be bonafid franchise changer. Winslow has that ceiling? I dont see it

He's like WCS without the foot issue and an offensive game!

picking porzingis over winslow was a decent sized mistake... taking a risk is good and all but winslow is a very good player in his own right... we wouldn't have taken porzingis if russell and okafor were there and not valuing winslow as highly will in all likelihood come back to bite us... and miami just capitalized on a lot of dumb gm's outsmarting themselves..

that doesn't mean it can't work out .. if we have a plan in place to mold him into the player he needs to be then i can see where some of the risks are mitigated and you have closer to a good decision.. but if this is just another one of those pick and pray he figures it out then it is objectively just bad all around...

Yeah I agree , I have this nightmare we will miss the playoffs and Denver will win the lottery and get a franchise cornerstone for a decade.

Winslow is a steal for Miami, however, not at #4 for us and all the HOLES WE NEED TO FILL
We do not have the DEFENSIVE players to compliment Winslow and if we drafted him, it would be like Iman Shumpert all over again, without Lebron James, or at minimum a Jimmy Butler/Kawaii Leanard to pair with him

I am willing to wait a couple of years before we fully evaluate the moves that Phil Jackson is trying to fix
From our roster, rebuilding our management, development/coaching staff, and repairing relationships that majority of franchise HATE US, making us overpay for every trade and not selling picks to us but willing to sell it to other teams

Truth is we get SO MUCH MEDIA ATTENTION, MORE THAN ANY OTHER TEAM EVEN WHEN WE SUCK, and we STILL HAVE WORLDWIDE FANS EVERYWHERE
Phil Jackson is NOT DOING A QUICK FIX

While I do not know if The Triangle is the best choice that we MUST INCORPORATE, I LIKE WHAT PHIL JACKSON IS TRYING TO DO, REBUILDING and REPAIRING EVERYTHING that is wrong with our franchise for life beyond his 5year contract
