BY FRANK ISOLA NEW YORK DAILY NEWS Friday, June 26, 2015, 12:29 Carmelo Anthony is upset with Phil Jackson's decision to draft 19-year-old Kristaps Porzingis, telling a close friend "are we supposed to wait two or three years for this guy?"
A Knicks source claims that Anthony called Tim Hardaway Jr. after Hardaway was traded to Atlanta for the draft rights to Jerian Grant to express his displeasure with Jackson's moves.
"He doesn't understand it," the source said.
ESPN's Stephen A. Smith said on SiriusXM radio that Anthony feels "betrayed" by Jackson, who last summer signed him to a 5-year, $124 million contract.
Knicks officials are aware of Anthony's feelings about the moves.
Early Friday, Jackson was asked if he thought about Anthony when picking Porzingis and said: "Carmelo's always on my mind. He's our favorite son."
Anthony, who turned 31 on May 29, had season ending knee surgery in February and will be ready by the start of training camp.

Melo shouldn't have re-signed with the Knicks if he thought a 37 win team that just traded Tyson Chandler for nothing was going to become a contender again quickly.

We've seen Melo the GM before in action with his CAA driven transactions...that failed miserably.
Melo needs to play nice for at least a few more weeks and let Phil work through free agency before he voiced his displeasure.
i could care less if melo doesn't like it. melo gutted the team to get here and then shouldnt have resigned here if he didnt want to be part of a rebuilding effort.

To me, honestly, the second we traded Tyson it signaled rebuild. I think Melo was thinking it'd be more of a "reload"... which it still can be in FA... we'll see...

I seriously hope the focus of free agency is on building the team of the future. Melo can ask for a trade if he doesn't agree. Not that anyone would actually want his baggage
Even last summer the word was that Melo's people told him to sign the Knicks deal, get the most guaranteed $$$ and if it didn't work out, get a trade done. He's always selfish and he always paints himself into these corners.
Heck, he painted himself into a corner with how he came to NY in the first place. Knicks could have signed him flat out and had Felton, Wilson, Gallo, Mozgov, Amar'e, Melo here... sigh.

Anthony has to know that anything he says would get out. He allowed this to happen.

I'm actually ok with Phil signing him last summer..... Now when he leaves the knicks will get something back for him.
If he just left last summer. It would of been a waste, we would be exactly where we are now but minus the biggest trade chip this organization has had in decades.

I've never been a huge fan of Melo but I've felt as a Knicks fan I at should at least hold my nose and hope for the best. It's funny, my first reaction to the Porzingis pick was disappointment but I quickly got over that and hope for the best and hope that he develops into the franchise player that he is capable of becoming. If these comments by Melo are for real, F him, ship him out somewhere. I'm tired of holding my nose and waiting for this guy to grow a brain. It ain't happening.

Everyone in the Knicks organization is told specifically not to talk to Isola. Dolan hates Isola with a passion and tries to cut off all his access. So he's got to be vague.
At this point, I'd be fine trading Melo. Get at least two #1 picks for him and a young guy who has at least starter upside and move on.
Melo is setting up his back door strategy, so he can exit without looking like he just wanted his money.
But the reality is he just wanted his money and the privilege of living in NYC. Now that he got both, he's developing an exit strategy.
Just watch what happens when we go on a losing streak....The Melo trading rumors will begin!
