dude...you are spazzing out.

max deal or nothing..don't waist his time with triangle talk, and business ventures.

Knicks need to do something quickly. Lol. Man, is Phil even awake yet?
I'm sure Toronto offered him more than the Knicks would want to pay. Wow 4 year 60 miilion for Carroll. That's absolutely ridiculous.
why... i hope phil is thinking like you..90 mill 5 yr was the market price set this morning..60 mill 3, is the going rate..

If the Knicks asked him to take less as Hahn suggested, they basically already blew their chance.
This concerns me too, not gonna lie...Hopefully it was presented like this: "we want you, Greg. Period. The max is yours. However, if you agree to take X-amount less, we can do this, that and/or the other," whoever that may be. If they went out it like "we want you but only at this amount (something less than the max)" w/o explaining why, w/o devising a way to make it up to him shortly down the road, etc., we very well could've blew it. Also, Melo needed to be there at the meeting, telling Monroe he wants to play with him, telling him that he's healthy and ahead of schedule, etc.. If he wasn't there, that's another blow to our chances if you ask me.

he wasn't there.
and i agree with everything you just said. who knows, maybe that's how the Knicks presented it and they gave it their best shot and he just wants to play for a more winning and stable franchise like Portland...
but yeah, really feel like Melo should've been there. don't know if Phil didn't want him there or whether Melo was even asked, so can't take it out on Melo.

If you're Melo and you supposedly want to win, right, and win soon because your window's closing, how do you not tell Phil you wanna be there?? Wow...I mean what was it--that the meeting was late, midnight last night?? F that you diva---get your ass there and sell yourself, this team, etc.. If it's true and he wasn't there to meet with Monroe and it wasn't an important reason, he's a joke. End of story. Was Derrick Rose at the meeting when you you met with Chicago, Melo? How 'bout Dirk--was he there when you met with Dallas?? Come on man..

Sounds like Kobe blew the LMA pitch for the Lakers again... (only somewhat kidding here, he turns a lot of guys off with his attitude - scared Dwight away, didn't help with Melo)
Let's just hope the Lakers bring in Kobe to talk to Monroe, too.

maybe they mentioned to him that he would not be allowed to take so many stupid shots??

"look, LMA, Kobe and D'Angelo get the stupid shots... that's just how we play here."

Disliked the bball part of the presentation? What was the non-bball part?

I'm guessing there was a marketing presentation. Teams like the Lakers and Knicks are dumb. They think players want to play for the Lakers or Knicks brand. Players are their own brands now. They want to win. Knicks and Lakers are still operating in the old world. They think the name on the front of the jersey matters more.... it doesn't anymore. Look at the Celtics, Knicks, Lakers... none of these places are free agent destinations anymore.

They probably wanted to move him to C, which he hates

I know, right? Seriously..lol
Looks like Spurs are front runners.
I'd kind of freak out of we signed Aldridge. It'd be an incredible talent upgrade over what we have now, though how it all fits together, who knows. I guess it almost doesn't matter when you score the best player available.
Aldridge is a different animal from Amare. Kind of a Dirk-like game. Pretty complete player.
Go get him, guys!
