Knicks · Clippers trying to get Jordan to change his mind and not go to Dallas? (page 1)

And Cuban got fined for comments made BEFORE all this? If DJ reverses his decision, you can bet there's going to be some real fine-worthy comments coming our way.

If they are able to meet with him and convince him to change his mind, there will be some major changes to free agency moving forward. The NBA really can't do anything to dissuade Clips front office from meeting with him, he still hasn't signed. It is a morals issue only. Deandre's agent can't be blamed, he does not have the power to prevent this meeting, Deandre is his own man. And Dallas will really get screwed, having tied up their cap space because they are committed, while all other free agents go off the market. At the same time, it is similar to restricted free agency in that sense. But Dallas will have missed an opportunity at Robin Lopez or trade for Hibbert if Jordan backs out. Could Dallas conceivably turn around and try to convince Robin to back out of his agreement with the Knicks and take more money out of desperation to save face? Unlikely, but this could potentially open up a whole mess of problems with no obvious solution.

At this point that would be messed up
djsunyc @ 7/8/2015 1:16 PM
this is bad.

jordan's agent will never get any love from owners after this.

doc will never get any love from any other gm's after this.

you guys wouldn't have gotten lopez b/c of this. he would've went to dallas instead. not to mention wes matthews signing there partly b/c of jordan.

mreinman @ 7/8/2015 1:20 PM
does this mean that ROLO is still not ours because of the Jordan contingency?

Forgot that Matthews went there because of Jordan. Apparently the Clips are bypassing Jordan's agent in the meeting process this time.

Awesome! I mean, its just drama. I always thought it odd to commit but not have things official for so many days.
smackeddog @ 7/8/2015 1:29 PM
Embarrassing for all parties concerned
Cartman718 @ 7/8/2015 1:39 PM
what if houston or spurs paid deandre under the table to "be torn"?

Which is the better team with Jordan, though...the Clippers or the Mavs?

I think those teams would rather see him on the Mavs, to be honest.

crzymdups @ 7/8/2015 1:47 PM
Wow. This would be akin to getting cold feet at the wedding and running out of the church and hopping in a bus with Dustin Hoffman.

Wow wow wow.

I'm guessing DeAndre's agents are having a fucking fit right now. The Clippers bet hope they NEVER need to work with that agency again.

Cartman718 @ 7/8/2015 1:47 PM
the mavs... easily. without deandre, they get destroyed inside. blake would not be as effective.
with dirk and deandre starting for mavs, that would be a great frontcourt even with dirk staying outside mostly.
