Knicks · How many people want to see Ndour signed (page 3)

If that had been a sequence in a playoff game in the Garden the roof would have blown off.

My hope is that he and Phil have an agreement where he plays overseas, and is brought back next year. Phil and Ndour's agent seem to be on good terms, and Ndour has some NY roots.

If other teams come into play with offers you have to sign him and deal with the roster consequences or imbalance.

My working hypothesis is that Gaines, who probably scouted him at Portsmouth, has convinced Jackson that Ndour will someday be our version of Rodman. Maybe they've convinced Ndour, too.

If he plays overseas and comes back next year with Hernangomez, it will be like we had two #1s in next year's draft. They will replace Thomas and Amundson, most likely.

Once again, by the way, you are seeing Phil looking to bring into the fold a kid who seems to be a high character person and player, with an international background, a solid family structure, and a lot of intelligence. You also had to be impressed with the modest interview he gave after the game, yesterday.

Also read on RealGM that he might be a vegetarian. This alone makes him a "must have" for me.

Good post. But I want to lock him up this year. He's ready now.

This was th r first thing that came to mind when i was thinking on how wecould fit him here. Except it was thomas and not amundson however, I then thought that it wouldn't be a very professional thing to do. Give an Nba journeyman a spot on this team and giving them a decent role for the team making the client very happy only to be waived?

It would take some balls and the willingness to admit mistake but I'd explain to Dolan that it's the right thing to do. What kind of contracts did we give LT and Amundson anyway? Were both fully guaranteed?

N Dour caught my attention in his first play with the alley hoop
He is listed at 200pds but I could see his versatility and how he put up those great numbers in college with his physical attributes on BOTH OFF and DEF

He has GREAT mobility/length/athleticism/REACH, looks like a Renaldo Balkman type player with more skills, at the SF/PF

Instead of using money on Lou Amundson and Lance Thomas (total 3m combined) we still need to fill a couple positions
I would rather have used in on AB/Josh Smith and Shved on 2year deal with team option on 2nd or 1year deals, not sure if he still have the bird rights NEXT year for Shved

With only 2 roster spots though Early, Ledo, even Galloway are not guarantee's...

1- Backup SG, that could shoot 3pters/defend and penetrate
2- PF/C or Center
3- PG that could penetrate with consistency or/and players that could penetrate consistently/create and facilitate, as we only have Grant that could do this

He totally knows how to use his length/athleticism/reach/mobility to rebound/play help defense/and run for an uptempo system
Would sign Ndour to a 2year deal, not sure if the vet min would be enough for him, but would consider using the 2.8m to sign a 3year/4year deal as he would be a discount as the cap rises the next couple years
Anywhere from 1m to 1.4m salary

Surprised we didn't offer Hackett a JOB as well, he is going back to Europe to play as we loss out on Shved this year

folks this is the SUMMER league. several players are going to look good or bad.

and he looks good, and it hasn't been just 1 game. He was the best player on the court in that last game, that means he excelled over every one..sign him

I'm not saying we should not sign him but just to keep perspective, there have been players who have exceded in the summer league but we're bums in the Nba.

I see it a bit differently in our case. The offense we run will expose your game. If you can't really play it's hard to look go in the Triangle. You have to be able to do a lot of things well. You have to be bright enough to pick it up and skilled enough to make all the different plays. The way we play isn't as loose as some SL teams who are playing more like Pick Up Basketball. NDour has shown he can hit the mid range, score out of the Triangle Post Spot, defend and rebound. He's pretty solid looking IMO.

It appears as if this is a universal yes from Knick fans which is unheard of. Even if he spend 2-3 weeks in the D league to start--thats fine(although Im not sure he needs to at all) but lets lock him up for 2-4 years. Hes like an additional 1st round pick.

I see a little K-Faried in NDour --- obviously few rebound like Faried but he plays with great energy and can shoot/defend I think better than Kenneth.

Plus NDour appears to have legit length -- though he could use to add 10Lbs to his frame.

Both kp and ndour are 15 lbs and 2 yrs away from being all star caliber players.

If ndour can develop a handle and maintain defensive consistency he may indeed reach that level. I think we should see what he can do at an nab level first though.

he was terrible today.

I guess the knicks don't sign players after one good summer league game.

I'd give him 3 good games with two good offensive games. Today he was bad offensively and some on defense but I expect that. All you should want to see from rookies is if they have potential to stay in the league and I think N'Dour has shown that.

kid has been good but he was terrible today, and he got crushed defensively.

I would love to see how he plays over a 10 day period.

yeah, I think how he does in the camp invite will be big but to me he deserves a spot regardless. The kid has natural talent on both ends of the court and has nba length.

Like Kristaps he needs to get stronger. I wonder about his S&T training before now. I doubt he had the proper environment to get stronger. The knicks do not have a pick next year so I would treat him like a stash player but sign him and have him play in the D-league and practice against the pros. Honestly, right now he is pprobably as good as Lance and Amundson who are not much bigger than him.

The knicks have 3 spots open they can cut Ledo and add N'dour.

N'dour should be given a spot over Ledo, Wear, Gallo and Kirk. if he doesn't there's no point in SL
