Knicks · So the Knicks banking on Durant, really?? (page 1)

SAS drives me nuts. Ugh.
ChuckBuck @ 8/12/2015 2:50 PM
Stephen A's voice really grates on you. Half the time he's yelling for no reason. Always inserting himself into the persona of an athlete, like he knows exactly what they're thinking. Definition of a blowhard.

KD coming here? No chance in hell.

SwishAndDish13 @ 8/12/2015 2:52 PM
There is literally zero truth to this.
CrushAlot @ 8/12/2015 2:54 PM
Yeah. Backpedaling on all of the Melo quotes and saying that they were his words based on his disgust with the Knicks. Also still bashing the Knicks offseason.

Every team with cap space will be after Durant, so why not the Knicks? And why would the Knicks be any different?

It's funny to me that the commentators would single out Mudiay for playing a dozen games in China as being more NBA ready because of that experience while completely ignoring the KP played in the top league in the world after the NBA.... but obviously is NOT ready to contribute.

sure the knicks have a shot but as we saw in FA, its really really hard to get a tier 1 premium FA to come to your team especially if you are not a top team.

what do we have that will make NY a good enough sell?

Perhaps we have a 3-5 pct chance at him?

gunsnewing @ 8/12/2015 3:00 PM
Was there ever any doubt? As long as they don't put all their chips in like they did with Lebron.

How exactly is Durant & Melo going to work anyway? Melo would have to go if that was the case.

holfresh @ 8/12/2015 3:01 PM
I absolutely believe the Knicks are gunning for Durant..It's the reason we maxed out signing vet role players..

Well yeah, obviously..The the idea that the Knicks are rebuilding has always been nonsense...

earthmansurfer @ 8/12/2015 3:05 PM
We probably have space with the cap and we have a solid team. You add Durant, and damn. Melo, KP and Durant. That is a mess for defenses.
I think we would actually outscore others, and KP can play defense.
Nice defensive center in Lopez. I could imagine Durant coming, if he digs NY.

Why wouldn't he? Also, I don't think it would matter if he didn't want him in ny do you?

Why would Durant come here without Melo?

Yeah I miss read that when I initially responded. Doesn't make sense.

I guess your definition of rebuilding doesn't mean trying to sign a top free agent after clearing deck and drafting high potential upside guy and signing role players?

Show upside potential as a team. Got to win games this year. KP, Grant gotta make a strong showing.

It's even more funny to me that the commentators completely disregard trading THJr for Grant.... isn't Grant considered as ready as any of the other guys selected ahead of him in the draft?

I think the general excepted definition of rebuilding is thru draft picks and building around them as the focus of the team...If the Knicks are going after Durant, I doubt Porzingus is thought of as a piece to build around...

yeah ... maybe if we win 45 games and perhaps get a low playoff seed we look more attractive and it ups our minimal chances.

nobody is really predicting that we will get near there but hell ... who knows.

I think we end up near 35 wins which is quite an improvement but certainly no where near enough to entice durant.

Nalod @ 8/12/2015 3:20 PM
We all Homers and think knicks get dissed in the media. Most of the time it has proven itself to be more accurate then not.

In time, I will all get sorted out. If KP can show some big upside and Melo is at the top of the game and knicks can squeak in playoffs it would go a long way toward not just a star player, but also the "Mark West" kind of guys that got their money but want a chance at a ring.

Until then Phish and Co. have to their Zen on and do it on the court. Who cares what SAS thinks, the dude just wants to create some drama where there is none. Even if Melo was upset, it was a private matter and there was no verification and thus no drama.
