Knicks have 5 players on ESPN bottom 100 players..2 players who were ranked even lower and didn't make the rankings...
Gallo #317
Early #318
Calderon #321
Admunson #364
Thomas #398
----------
Off the ranking charts
Sasha
Thanasis
So what?
There are just 390 humans on Earth who play in the NBA. Being number 390 on that list would still make you one hell of a basketball player.
Just more flotsam to throw out there by the OP to further the agenda that the GM does not know what he is doing. As if an ESPN ranking is somehow a definitive indication of anything. If it was based on last year's performances.......Calderon was hurt. Gallo and Early (was hurt) were rookies. Admunson and Thomas are end of the bench hustle type players.
Cole Aldrich clocking in at a solid #351, and we were all in a tizzy over letting him walk.
Several other ex Knicks gracing the list:
Prigioni #329
Dalembert #333
Copeland #345
Felton #358
Bargnani #361
Larkin #388
Acy #390
Novak - missed the cut
Let the Porzingis era begin...
Kevin Seraphin #282
Jerian Grant #268
Whatever, ESPN is just full of it anyways
Amare #278
Jason Smith #281
THJr. #291

LMAO
Some get perverted pleasure in being that guy that says "See I told you, Until we win we won't get good players"!
Bottom 100? Role players and rookies don't deserve high ranks.
What, no mention of Melo's ranking?

They haven't released that yet. They released 300-400, then 200-300, etc. The top 25 is all next week, I think.

It's nothing about "I told you so"...Just relaying the title that ESPN had at the time when the ranking came out...A bit sensitive even for u...
Kyle O'Quinn #228
Derrick Williams #239

Yes, YOU did the relay.
Sensitive? Damn, glad there were only 5!
17 wins, I don't expect us to have much great preseason press. Im not interested in last year. Its done.

Is that a good or a bad thing?

Nice! He's a top 200 player in the league without even playing a regular season game.

Certainly not a bad thing...No one has any idea how his game translates until he hits the floor...

Im going old school on his expectation and playing time. As mentioned by somebody the adjustment to the NBA is no easy task so while Im excited to read the kid is a basketball junkie I expect he will have to earn his minutes and that's not a bad thing unless one is impatient. I recall how Mozgov was rushed in, then he lost those minutes but while some thought MDA was "holding him back" he was in fact learning and when his number was called he was much better after half a season on the bench.
If he sits, I'll be disappointed but that's better than watching him get destroyed. If he's ready, he'll play.
This is phils kid. should be interesting.

Agree with the tempering of expectations. I don't think anyone here believes he's going to Dirk everyone from the get go. Will truly be Phil's pet project and possibly be his legacy as Knick's president. I don't mind him coming off the bench Year 1. All you can ask is steady growth and improvement on a game to game, week to week, month to month basis.
The hope is organic growth with this team and coach, and get to that star status by year 3 or 4. Hard to do in New York, but not impossible, if we do it the right way and not cave into the public or owner's demands...
espn basically shakes a bowl full of player names that are not top 50 and then another bowl full of rankings 51 to 400 and starts picking from each bowl. that's why it takes them a whole week to do this diligent work of evaluating rankings for each player.
