Knicks · Some interesting guys getting waived (page 1)

Michael Qualls, and Jordan Crawford. I think Qualls probably isn't back from his acl injury but not sure what is up with Crawford. There are some other names but these guys stood out to me today.

Didn't we have Qualls come in for a workout?

High energy...constant motor. Noticed him when I was watching Portis.

I think so. I thought OKC was smart to get him. I wonder if they are planning on sending him to the d league.

We need to find a Calderon replacement. Heck, I think we can stick Galloway in the starting lineup but they will need to draw up plays for KP and Melo will need to be efficient. I am not into players who cost us on defense, which Calderon really does.

Let us see if any nice PG's become available or if by some miracle of Gods we can trade Calderon.

We need a mobile center off the bench....I think Rolo might become an expensive bench player if his impact doesnt improve. He may be a better player off the bench. Not getting Monroe really hurt Phils building potential.

The Catch-22 is that in order to trade Calderon you have to play him to show teams that he has something left to give them on the court.

Looks like his offensive game is back, that's been evident in pre-season. Looks like our best outside shooter at this point.

From what I've seen when I watched games with other teams, its difficult for ANY PG to play defense with the way rules are set up and the prevalence of perimeter picks. Missing defensive assignments or losing track of your man is another thing.

Crawford isn't and never will be welcome in New York especially while Melo is here.

Calderon looked just fine to me in the preseason and looked good last night.

Crawford's D is as bad as Sasha's. He really doesn't add anything to the lineup. Qualls is intriguing. Can he be sigNed to an NBDL team or is he draft eligible.

I think go 14 guys now and have 1 open roster spot. Just keep the guys we have.

On defense? Honestly, you are the first person who I've seen say that, that includes the other board. He is just terrible on defense.

Walt - Yeah, of course, the rules are basically non contact on the perimeter but we can probably both agree he is going to cause our interior to defense to build up fouls. Things start with the weakest link.
I do think Galloway can start. With Melo and even KP getting attention, shots will be open for him and he is an ok shooter when open. Maybe later in the year Jerians shot comes around.

Just for you...

Warriors waived Jarell Eddie.
CrushAlot @ 10/23/2015 7:58 PM
Sounds like Pierre Jackson is going to get waived in Philly. Also, Pompey said he thinks Wilbekin makes the team.
clyderules @ 10/23/2015 8:25 PM
Chris Babb also waived by GS. Babb or Eddie worth picking up?
Knicks1969 @ 10/24/2015 2:12 AM
We need a slashing SG WHO CAN DEFEND

I think that guy could be Qualls. He is very athletic, has a huge wingspan, and huge hands so he fits Phil's type. I think he may have committed to OKC and playing in the d l because they signed him despite his acl tear. However, if the Knicks offered him a guaranteed deal I think he would take and he could rehab in Westchester for awhile. I think the Knicks either take Qualls or Ndour if he is waived by the mavs. The Mavs should waive Ndour but they committed a bit of cash to him.
CrushAlot @ 10/24/2015 2:23 AM
Just watched a little of the Philly game tonight (20 mins) and Jackson didn't look good.
TPercy @ 10/24/2015 11:05 AM
Any decent pgs available

Philly is going to be waiving at least one point guard. Pierre Jackson did not look good last night though.
CrushAlot @ 10/24/2015 2:47 PM

He is supposed to have come to camp out of shape and now he is hurt. McGee is definitely going to be their center it appears.
