would love to hear the reasoning behind this and what went on in practice to facilitate this move.
dk7th @ 11/30/2015 3:27 PM
since he can't get minutes at msg he might as well be kept sharp elsewhere.
fitzfarm @ 11/30/2015 3:27 PM
Trade coming?

Don't think there is any scenario that an assignment to the D league helps/hurts/facilitates a trade.

Gotta be to get him minutes.

Nalod @ 11/30/2015 3:32 PM
Might be for a few games?
or is it.....

JIMMER TIME!!!!!

cue the "why the phuque our coached is not playing Jimmer, a proven winner?" threads

i didn't realize fredette was a knick. big club could use another shooter off the bench.

we need a penetrator. Can he do that? Is he fast enough? Or do we just have a younger less efficient calderon?

He's stuck in a #s crunch.... this. Its only his 2nd year... this isnt earth shattering.
Nalod @ 11/30/2015 3:43 PM
again with the "penetrator" thing???

Jimmer is penetrating just fine!

Chandler @ 11/30/2015 3:43 PM
i hope the idea is to get him more game time minutes.

The answer is: Sasha. I heard him and Fisher are roommates::))

the putative point position in the triangle does not necessarily need the ability to break down defenses but should be able to make good entry passes to a post player and be able to hit the corner three. think about fisher's role in los angeles. think about the bulls guards before fisher. none had the ability to break down defenses. fisher made an entry pass and often was in the right corner in the triangle. he made a living hitting the corner three.

the bigger issue for fredette is can he defend at the nba levels against other bench guards. if fredette is called up i think he is going to eat into grant's minutes. i love grant's potential but he isn't triangle ready because he can't hit a corner three. he has three threes this season, one notable one last night, notable because they are so infrequent.

Can we assume that her next book will be Life on the Down Low, or something similar?

Fisher had Kobe and some damn good pick men too. You think that jose can't throw an entry pass? He has a very very high bball IQ. He can beat the pressure defense.

how can you infer this from my post? i merely said the point guard in the triangle does not need penetrating, drive and kick ability. it's actually counterproductive in the triangle because the offense is supposed to radiate out from the players in the post. it's nice that grant has the ability to drive and kick/finish but in the triangle these skills are secondary to making good entry passes, hitting corner threes, working a pick and roll/pop game.

why do you think that jose is not working?

With him and Jimmer well win the D-League.

From dowwwwnntowwwn! Yes!

GustavBahler @ 11/30/2015 4:30 PM
Early needs to go to a team the runs a lot more. Hope he blows up in D-league so the Knicks can package him in a deal for another shooter, in case Afflalo runs out of gas before the season is over.
CrushAlot @ 11/30/2015 4:50 PM
Early needs floor time. He put up good numbers in Westchester last year. The team is supposed to have a more developmental coaching staff in place. Hopefully this helps him.
