for Markief Morris Archie Goodwin and a 2nd rounder 2016. I think a reasonable calculated change in complimentary players is what we need to do. I think Goodwin gives us an athlete we just dont have and Morris isnt happy with the Suns--hes a much better player than now
I'm a Derrick Williams fan. Oaq can go. I'd rather see us bring back a defensive 2.
Markief Morris seems to be a malcontent. Not sure about him.
I don't mind the idea of Archie Goodwin though.
But I think a trade like this is something that could help the team.
I'd really love to get TJ Warren from the Suns - I like that kid a lot. He's probably not available.
Also Woj tweeting tonight implying that Shabazz Muhammad or his agent wants him out of Minnesota.
I knew Morris was unhappy but it sounds like things are getting hotter in Phoenix. Hornacek benched him for a game and Wojo/Shams wrote a rumors article about him being traded.

Well damn! We're not even a quarter way thru the season. Both guys have DNP's and aren't getting much playing time, if any. Let's get these guys some run before we throw them on the trash heap

I think we need shuffling of our complimentary players. I dont see us getting first rd picks like Warren for secondary players or bigger contract players. Goodwin is behind too many guys in Phoenix and Morris was a 16-6 46% F last year--its an offense punch and an athletic lift.
could we throw in Derek Fisher as well? No need to send back a coach.
The guy in Phoenix that I'd love to get is their rookie Devin Booker. He's shooting above 50% from the field and 70% from the arc. He was a very good college shooter, too and I believe he's the youngest player in the league.

why trade Fisher or why trade D Williams & KOQ?
Neither is really playing for us, but some feel they have talent - lets see if we can trade 2 guys and get something back.
My point on trading Fisher is even if you make this trade, and get talent back, seemingly, there may not be a guarantee that Fisher will use them to maximize their abilities/contributions.
We need to be careful the players we try to bring into the fold. We need hard working, professionals. Can't have guys crying about situation and minutes.
Gotta give this team some tume

Were not getting Booker for any of this--they would be crazy to trade him by the way--and I doubt they do.
Character counts to Phil and this squad gets along despite several competing for minutes. Oquinn will eventually get his chance to show his wares here and I think he will be productive. Seraphin is FA at year end, maybe he gets shopped down the line instead. Not crazy about Williams overall game but last thing we need to do is give away someone who can score on second unit for a potential malcontent. Bench could have used Schved
I'd rather have Ryan Anderson.

I wrote this post as an example of what we can potentially do. Id like to see some of the complimentary players changed. This particular trade youd get an athletic and offensive upgrade. Im sure we can go around to 15 teams and look at what is what etc.. but I think this teams needs this. There will be no change in our play as is.

Agree with surveying the landscape as this is nowhere a finished product that can contend. Think Phil did well beyond drafting KP and Grant (hopefuly) , but primarily by unloading more than adding, most additions (not including draft picks) are decent complements as you say but none are pillars. With the benefit of hindsight, he could have added some firepower to bench perhaps a Thornton but do like that Phil has given us flexibilty to make changes however slow and frustrating that may be

In sports I hate giving up seasons. While NO oNE is interested in panic moves--if Im swapping $-$ if I think I can improve the team I would do it. Id like to sign Affalo to a 4 yr extension after this season---but Id rather move Melo Oquinn and Williams out for new complimentary parts/draft picks etc..
Like Affalo but 4 yrs seems too long at this stage of career. He appears to still have game and likely opts and gets raise but prefer to limit extension two yrs if possible. Dont see Jax going beyond since there should be some options

If we are bad at the deadline--we can also potentially look into trading Affalo for a number 1 and a number 2. We have some different possibilities
