Knicks · NBA has straight up robbed us of three wins this season (page 1)

crzymdups @ 12/11/2015 4:25 PM

Game 1 - there should have been .8 on the clock for KP's game winner in Charlotte and it should have counted.

Game 2 - NBA ref report shows there were SEVEN MISSED CALLS against Houston in the final two minutes of the 4th quarter, sending the game to overtime

Game 3 - ref report shows there should have been a foul called on Rondo to end the game.

We would be 13-11 if we got those calls. The sky would not be falling. It kinda sucks. But it also shows that we are not quite as bad as our record shows right now. Hopefully these calls will even out as the season goes. I know we got a gift in the Toronto win. We're due two more big calls that give us wins by my count!

good post, simply because some perspective is needed. Knicks dont have time to feel sorry for themselves, this is something they need to fight through. They are taking some lumps. Is this part of the process or is the ship sinking? For those who hate Melo, Phil and Fisher its validation of that hate at the forefront.

I cant really say yet... Seen some good, bad and inbetween. Time will tell if this is part of the process or not. I like the effort last night. I liked MElo's passing for the open 3's which everyone bricked last night and I hated his last shot but its part of why his teammates respect him.

Knicks need to get better... Melo's Jamal Crawford like FG% included.

I subscribe to the theory that when you lose a close game, you've earned it since you put yourself in that position to be close & lose.

I do think this is why people are upset here- we're clearly better than our record.

+2 on both statements... Knicks should have a better record through no fault of their own, and they have only themselves to blame and can play better. If there is a positive it means when blown calls lose you games youre close. They need to get further.

I HATE excuses. When i play basketball i definetly disagree with some calls BUT at the end of the day i dont blame the refs if my team loses. I agree our record should be better but WE cost ourselves a few games not the refs. The only game i felt we got screwed a little was the charlotte game. More time should have been put on the clock

And if you count Pre-season, as FIREWOODSON has suggested, then.......

Remember when we all were circle jerking that Phil was exec of the year? That includes the guy who hires the coach right?

Bottom line is we likely get some breaks too and win some games we should lose so in the long run the closer we are to .500 the more success I think.

Sky is not falling. WE all lost our minds with KP and had some fun with it.

Surprised Miami game didn't make the list. We were hosed then too bug time. Wade yells at the refs, and we get called for the foul. Melo yells at the ref he gets T (pretty sure it was the same ref too).

Agree it's an excuse. but also agree with Melo that it can be very frustrating

Knicks1969 @ 12/11/2015 5:00 PM
So r some of you going to stop blaming Carmelo???

Are you going to stop with the RainMan thing regarding Fish?

Miami blew us out both games. We had no chance to win. The Houston game ended the 4th qtr tied and shouldn't have. The Charlotte game we should have won flat out on a game winner. The Sacto game we should have had Melo at the line with a chance to tie or win to end the game.

Like I said, hopefully the calls even out by the end of the season, but we've had to swallow some tough calls at the end of the game and I think as Fish said it does explain why some people are frustrated - our record should be better right now.

Yes, the Knicks have plenty of room for internal improvement, but these are clear examples of the refs costing us three wins. Early in the season, those things are going to feel magnified when three wins is the difference between 13-11 and 10-14.

Chandler @ 12/11/2015 5:13 PM
point well taken; you're right we didn't lose in Miami because of refs, but it was one of the worst officiated games IMO

Oh, I agree. I actually think that first Miami game in Miami was so bad that it threw them into this current funk. It got in their heads, I think. Look at Melo's stats since then. And the team is 2-7 since that game.

But still, I think Miami is the better team right now. While the calls certainly didn't help and gave Miami momentum, they were killing the team, particularly the bench.

So if the nba says they made a bad call and it cost the team you root for the game you think it is an excuse. I am confused by this. If officiating costs a team a victory I would expect fans of that team to be frustrated. It isn't an excuse. The Knicks lost 3 games on calls the nba has come out and said that they got wrong. It can't be reversed but it sucks.

Other than the shot clock error, what calls cost the team the win? I ask this because I'm assuming if those calls were made the Knicks were guaranteed to win? I dont think so in any case.

the point is we have put ourselves in bad positions too many times this year. We have blown late leads and dug ourselves in deep holes. Its not like im defending the refs because i agree they have made some bad calls. However i dont blame the refs everytime we lose because it isnt the truth
markvmc @ 12/11/2015 7:53 PM
I'd be interested to see such reports for other close games not involving the Knicks. Refs are human and will always miss calls. And in a close game, if a few are missed down the stretch, that can make the difference.

Now if there's evidence that this is happening to the Knicks more than to anyone else...

How about if we blame them for the three games that they said they got wrong.

Vmart @ 12/11/2015 8:00 PM
Melo would have misses the free throws anyway all game long he showed lack of consistency at the line.

are there games that could go the other way? the players better not be sitting around fussing over the refs.

starksy has a point here... stop with the mistakes, poor d, etc, give your self breathing room on the scoreboard so it doesnt matter if the refs make mistakes.
