Honest question - I'm not sure where I stand on it. And I do worry it'd mess with Grant's head. And Jose has been solid lately.

I wouldn't worry about the wins. Fredette is not likely to be worse than Grant.

I agree to worry about Grant's confidence.
Still, it's business and Grant has only himself to blame.
Really . . . no one can say that Grant hasn't been given a chance.

Now Fredette (and the Knicks) need that chance.

Grant looked really good last game against Atlanta though. Maybe he's turning a corner? I think Grant's development is by far the more important agenda item than taking a flier on Fredette.

Well said. In the long run, Grant will undoubtedly prove to be the better prospect.

don't know about that

Have a little patience

this is what people said about THJ. That he was def this and def that and in the end, he was def none of it.

Grant and THJR are two completely different players. Not saying that Grant blows up into someone like Teague but he is a much better player and has more potential than Thjr ever will.

Fredette was a high usage player in college, and in the NBA he never really got that role. He's probably someone who could carve out a backup role on a team that wants a player who is able to come off screens and shoot or penetrate a D, push tempo.

If I had to guess, I think Phil has him pegged in as someone that could be the team's backup PG, if they make a trade. Phil has always like a backup PG that can push the ball, monopolize it a bit more, and be a little adventurous vs the slower, reliable, steady (but not very talented) starting PG.

A 2nd unit of Porzingis/Williams/Thomas/Galloway/Fredette would be fun to watch in short spurts.

wasn't comparing the 2. I was just pointing out how off absolute declarative predictions can be.
