This^.
I am not a moral victory guy. Knicks need to take this loss for what it is and not pat themselves on the back
They need this intensity to win the next games

Exactly. You work your butt off to get back in the game and your coach fails to do the one damn thing he's paid to do -- give your team a chance to actually win the game by drawing up a play at end of the game. Fish is NOT Popovich.
this is about as dumb as you can get. calderon had a good look - the shot didn't go in.
Dumb? Right. Calderon had good looks all game long. How did he do? Idiot.
The only thing I'll say is that Galloway had been so good at pushing the ball all game off rebounds... I kinda wish he just accelerated to the hoop. But if he missed, he'd be crucified.
nixluva wrote:Knicks need more Speed at guard to help match up with teams. Jose is OK but totally outmatched every night.
Calderon would be PERFECT guard off the bench for this team.
Only problem with that is . . .

right i thought we had a 20 second timeout left?
TIMEOUT COACH...THIS ISN'T THE LAKER CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM WITH KOBE AND SHAQ
So the Spurs can set their defense?
We looked a bit discombobulated out there around halfcourt. A timeout would have been a wise thing to do, IMO.
If they had one. They had already taken two or three in the last two minutes. I don't know if they had one.

what do you mean "only"?

Yea best D in the league. It would've not ended well for us. Calderon got a good look albeit he was rushed but can't complain
Yeah and he hits that shot a lot. To get that shot against the spurs...you can't ask for a better chance in that situation I don't think.
WaltLongmire wrote:broadwaystorm wrote:Stupid to give that to Melo. Even more stupid to have Calderon take the shot. Man I hate Calderon.
? Not a pretty play, but a good shooter got the last shot. The real question for me is if we had a timeout left.
Not a bad decision Jose can hit that shot ... Just wish he gave it to ice man Gallo instead who was also open

Thanks for putting it into words. No calls, a literal MAULING of our guy. This is championship play?
dk7th wrote:fisher screwed up that game. we could have used that last time out and run the lob play to kp again. instead it's give it to melo.
San Antonio best defense in the league. Smartest team and coach in the league. They would've defended against the KP lob this time. Trust me. A JV high school team would've known to keep the 7'3 KP away from the basket. Chances are Melo would've wound up with the ball anyway and with the Spurs setting up their D they would've forced another 30ft heave

Okay. BIG problem with that is . . . we haven't got another decent PG

I didn't see this... anyone have the replay of the last shot?
broadwaystorm wrote:No holding nothing high the FACT IS they had a shot at the end to win the game clean and they choked.
Would not use the word choke.
Had a good, smooth stroke, just missed it.
As some said- can't ask for a better shot against a great D like SA's.
To those of you criticizing the play, you are letting your emotions speak for you and you need to calm down. Carmelo made the correct read and passed the ball to the correct shooter. Jose missed the shot, but it was a good shot. I am a little confused about not calling a TO, but I will give Fisher a pass on that. The better team won tonight
Also props to AA with those two ice 3's to get us back after a bad 3 1/2 quarters .

no the spacing was horrible and the shot was rushed. terrible decision by fisher to not draw up a play there.

yes that's why we got a KP dunk coz the spurs were really set in their defense...like rocks.
That's the point. The Spurs defense wasn't set in the KP putback. Fool me once but won't fool me twice. Spurs and fool is like fire and ice
Im not mad at calderon. However i never liked the trade for many reasons. First off we sold low on tyson and secondly jose isnt really a point guard. He cant pass well, doesnt have much vision, and defensively lol. However his shooting has been much better lately so i cant knock him taking the last shot
That Melo high screen for KP is a thing a beauty. I see it open nearly every time they run it during games but they miss KP.
It works because there is no way to cheat it. It either gets KP open at the rim or from 3. On top of that it frees up Melo too.
People complaining about a corner 3 by Calderon when he has his fit set with room created by Melo is beyond dumb.
Come on . . . NO timeout was the right call in that situation (!)
Got the open shot to win . . . and it just missed.

but that's just it-- you can't keep an agile 7'3" athlete away from the basket WITHOUT FOULING HIM
