right i thought we had a 20 second timeout left?
TIMEOUT COACH...THIS ISN'T THE LAKER CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM WITH KOBE AND SHAQ
So the Spurs can set their defense?
yes that's why we got a KP dunk coz the spurs were really set in their defense...like rocks.
I wouldn't rely on spurs repeating their mistKe.
either fisher has faith in this X's n O's out of a timeout or he doesn't....which one is it?
It's not that simple. Timeout allows pops to set D make subs etc.
And even if he did call a timeout were you expecting a better play than what we got
Jose shooting the short 3 for the win isnt bad. Jose needed to hit that
This was a great effort but still an L
Knicks need to get kissed and take it out on their next opponents
Malcolm wrote:Calderon is shooting 49% from field -- 3rd best PG in NBA.He got a good look and just missed (happens 51% of the time) . . .
I don't think anyone can be mad about Jose taking that shot. I just wish Melo passed it to ice man Gallo who was wide open too.
But again LMA fouled KP, KP should be going to the line to win the game
GustavBahler wrote:Great game. great effort. The team stayed mentally tough against maybe the best in that dept. KP carried himself like a franchise player this game the way he looked to dominate right out of the gate. Wasn't thrilled with how it ended, but more importantly the Knicks hung with the Spurs the entire game. Fisher made the right decisions to get them to that point late in the game. More progress, hope he can keep it up.
the only negative is lack of point guard. We need a guy who has good vision and passing ability. He doesnt even need to be that great
nyk4ever wrote:JrZyHuStLa wrote:Those easy layups by Parker were the mistakes, not Fisher's lack of using a timeout.
yup, agree 100%... our guards are turnstiles
Hard for anyone to guard a decent PG. Our guys get open but are not as aggressive shooting the ball.
Calderon was extremely hesitant shooting the ball. He had plenty of openings against Parker, too.
Also need some more help for the bigs on those plays.
Dudes asking for a time out - here's your answer. I can live with that. I think Kawhi would've denied Melo the ball out of a sideline out of bounds play. Might have even been a 5 second violation with no time outs left. We got an open three. It would've been nice if it went down. I screamed when it didn't. It was still the right play.
nixluva wrote:Knicks need more Speed at guard to help match up with teams. Jose is OK but totally outmatched every night.
This^
Difference tonight was Parker versus Jose. Parker penetrates and creates. Jose hesitates and shoots long
No one here is saying Jose had a bad look.
Therefore the no timeout was the right call.

Yea that will continue to be the story for as long as we keep trotting these guards out there late in games. Imagine where this team would be if we had a guard who could defend like say Iman Shumpert who we traded for the 60th pick in 2019

Of course, of course . . .

That would be "The Matador" Jose Calderone
Uhhh he beat Lopez & then Galloway on those layups. Were you watching the same game 👀

I agree! Not having an aggressive enough PG hurts us cuz teams aren't having to worry about our guards enough!!! Phil must upgrade the Guard spots. We can't only have Afflalo at SG either!
crzymdups wrote:Sangfroid wrote:dk7th wrote:that MOTHERFUKKING aldridge hooked kp's leg on that last play!!!!!! dirty filthy dirty play. bad no call that's a loose ball foul!!!!!
Thanks for putting it into words. No calls, a literal MAULING of our guy. This is championship play?
I didn't see this... anyone have the replay of the last shot?
When they show the court from the Knicks back court, you can see Aldrige trip him up, and KP on his back, looking for a foul. DIRTY BALL!!
blkexec wrote:broadwaystorm wrote:Are you really that jaded that you are happy after losing when we could have won this game at the end?
Hell No....I'm extremely upset. Yes we or Fisher will learn from this. But that was terrible. Gallo should've went to the cup and got the foul....Instead he deferred to Melo, and put Melo in a tough spot.
You and I know that Gallo was going to defer to Melo in that situation.
Its the point guard in you coming out, I think.
Calderon would also be a good SG off the bench . . . if we only had someone to play starting PG.
blkexec wrote:dk7th wrote:fisher screwed up that game. we could have used that last time out and run the lob play to kp again. instead it's give it to melo.
Melo is not Kobe, MJ, or Durrant.....Thats was a terrible way to end the game.
Timeout all day....It was a failed play from the very beginning, when Gallo was trying to give the ball to Melo, instead of being aggressive.
This I can agree with. Don't know what Galloway was doing. Guess we still feel we have to immediately rush to get the ball in Melo's hands every time the game clock is winding down. I don't get it but apparently it's a really tough habit to shake

No one's getting a foul call going to the bucket on the last play of a game. Never happens...
Yup...Not against the Spurs in their building.

It's a glaring weakness along with having only Afflalo as a true SG! We need 2 more guards! A speedy breakdown PG and a SG that can also defend!
Malcolm wrote:Calderon would also be a good SG off the bench . . . if we only had someone to play starting PG.
Sort of why I advocate for Conley over Batum this off-season.

Great point and that was their last time out. Calderon had a set shot that he hits at a high rate against the spurs.

We looked a bit discombobulated out there around halfcourt. A timeout would have been a wise thing to do, IMO.
If they had one. They had already taken two or three in the last two minutes. I don't know if they had one.
Sounded like we did from listening to the post game interview.
