Thomas is a Brooklyn born boy...right, and he's making it big in his home town.

He's also in a system of ball that seems to suit him, with a coach who really trusts him. Hopefully he and the Knicks both see the benefits of a continued relationship.

The $15M for 3 years, more or less, seems about right, IMO.

Here's an article on Lance and how we could lose him.

yes. extremely impressive. He is extremely efficient in what they ask him to do.

I dont really see that in the #s. His shooting stats are not great by any means. What is pushing that #?

FT attempts

He is second on the team in Free Throw attempts - but that's part of what makes him a valuable player. His quickness, both on fastbreaks and flashing in baseline in halfcourt sets, gets him fouled so much. It's really his best attribute.

He is a young player - I admit that I feel like he's kinda dumb sometimes, but Phil saw something in him and I think there's a chance he is able to put it all together. I hope he can. He looks great when he pushes a rebound on the break. If he can find more spots to be effective in half court sets and keeps improving and paying attention on defense I think he can be a keeper.

Melo won't win MVP, but if he can sustain this level till season's end, he should rightfully be back in the top 5-10 of the league, and closer to top 5. His scoring is down but his impact is up. He's a MVP caliber player when he's averaging 20-22/8-10 boards/4-5 assists. That's a balanced all around impact game. This is the first time I've truly loved Melo. He's playing like a Pippen/James hybrid player. Very very nice.

Thomas will likely be in the MLE range, unfortunately. I think 5-6 million a year. Not sure what the Knicks will do. They do rely heavily on their starting 5, and should have all of them back. So then it comes down to what they can get with their capspace vs keeping Lance. I hope we can keep him, but I'd want to first try and get players with higher skill level like Batum, DeRozan, Parsons - before and see what's left after money wise.

No sarcasm. Is there a single piece of info or insight that isn’t common knowledge in that article?

Sheridan has a weekly? column rating MVP candidates and I don't think he has Melo in his top 10. Some of that might be because he hates Phil but I don't think Melo is an MVP candidate this year.
In regards to Lance, he is Fisher's guy. I think Phil brings him back. He certainly has proven himself to be a learner.

LT is like your favorite Warm Old Blanket. You just feel comfortable and relaxed when he comes in the game. He's the model of what you want role players to be in this system. DWill has TONS more talent but if he played the game like LT he'd be a star right now. Gotta hope it rubs off on DWill. I have seen progress in DWill's development and that's the reason Phil and Fish like having a guy like LT.
