Knicks · OT: Cleveland fires coach Blatt (page 1)

crzymdups @ 1/22/2016 3:57 PM

Wow.

crzymdups @ 1/22/2016 3:58 PM
I said he might be in danger a few weeks back and someone said no way, no chance.

But this isn't surprising. Their scheme wastes Kevin Love and doesn't take advantage of Kyrie's pressence enough.

Also, I watched some of the LAC/CLE game last night and Blatt kept looking to Tyronne Lue and asking him what to do, which I thought was strange.

I bet they name Lue head coach, at least for the rest of the year.

BigDaddyG @ 1/22/2016 4:01 PM
I gave him the benefit of the doubt, but he just wasn't that impressive of a coach.
Knicks1969 @ 1/22/2016 4:02 PM
That is The LeBron effect:::))))) And you all still want to hang on to an unproven Fisher????? Lmfao

WTF. I feel bad for Coach Blatt. From what I hear, he's an awesome coach but LeBron sabotaged him.
smackeddog @ 1/22/2016 4:19 PM
Wow- didn't see that coming, at least timing wise.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have fired coach David Blatt, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

Ty Lue, Blatt's top assistant, has agreed to a multiyear deal to become the team's new head coach, sources told Yahoo.

Blatt's dismissal comes one season after he helped guide the Cavs to the 2015 NBA Finals in his first year as an NBA coach. Cleveland leads the Eastern Conference with a 30-11 record and has won 11 of its past 13 games. The two losses came against the San Antonio Spurs and Golden State Warriors, who beat the Cavs by 34 points on Monday.

LOL LeBron didn't like him

You were right! What the heck!? How do you know all this?! Will we make the playoffs? Will we upgrade the PG slot before the season is through?

Bet you are right about Lue. From afar it looks like Lue has been bailing Blatt out since he became coach. Impressive credentials coming in, looked like a bad combination of having a contender thrust upon him instead of the rebuilding job Blatt thought he would be working on, and a lack of experience. Seemed out of his element from the start.

Lue is Lebron's pick

crzymdups @ 1/22/2016 4:25 PM
there's no chance this is true.

People keep saying NO ONE in NBA east is going to beat Cavs now (I beg to differ)
that Lebron's buddy Tyronne Lue is new coach with $$$new contract.

Amazing 30 wins & 11 freaking losses, the Warriors blowout did in coach but LBJ could have save the coach for at least 1month
OR until Allstar game. He could have said something.

This is crap even though I dont care about CAVs though LBJ is one guy whom plays hard each night both sides of the ball.
I feel sorry for ex coach D.Blatt, he was up against the superstar whom can & is running the team.

WFAN Francessa is blasting the trade K.Love for star (Wolves) Wiggins. How'd you like Wiggins now eh Lebron?
I agree with Mike Francessa, on this one.

The asylum is being run by NBA pros, nor longer coaches.

All in all pressure will be MORE on Lebron's supporting cast
of K.Irving, K.Love, JR Smith etc..

I Dont see it
other than Lebron they better get some help at trade deadline
cause I maintain K.Love and Irving are SOFT

The team eventually got to go through some more stuff to rise to top
and have squad to beat either GS Warriors OR SA Spurs.

Does anyone on this forum believes as great & complete as Lebron J is,
that his cast or star Irving and Love will be healthy enough ?? when
it counts ?

LOL
going to enjoy watching this drama.
CAVs wanted to win this yr. nba 2015/16 title however this firing cements fact that team at 30-11 is
unhappy.

NEED to hold them non-Lebron players to responsibility.
Tired of hearing Kylie Irving knee need more time, blah ..blah.. blah...
and how great an all around pro Kevin Love is whom basically is in basketball for the $$$ and also his stats. NOT Getting better.

crzymdups @ 1/22/2016 4:36 PM
This sounds much more probable -

crzymdups @ 1/22/2016 4:37 PM
Would be interesting if the Cavs blamed Kevin Love's lack of production on Blatt and not the fact that Lebron dominates the ball first, Kyrie dominates it second, and KLove gets table scraps.

I recall Bosh saying the same thing before Love signed

Thought the Kevin Love trade was a bad idea from the start. Put LeBron at point, Irving at the 2, Wiggins at 3, an Thompson and Moz at 4,5. That would have been a scary team. LeBron could be more of a facilitator as he gets older and could have mentored his successor in Wiggins.

LeBron said the Love trade made them contenders faster, but I get the feeling part of it was not having a player on the team that does the things he used to do, that age wont let him do anymore.

Agreed 150%

Wiggins would have made Lebron work less hard to cover up deficiencies of other CAVs.

No love lost from me to ex knicks Shumpert & JR Smith whom got good opportunity
BUT DJ maintains Both Shumpert and JR QUIT On Knickerbockers ex Mike Woodson. Though I wasn't huge Woodson fan his Knicks
record was more than decent.

I don't like bail out guys like Shumpert and JR whom never EVER stepped up when Carmelo was hurt & out
That equals = QUITTER to me.

Since they've become CAVs LBJ wont let JR nor Shump quit while on his CAVs team Or they'd both be out of Cleveland per LBJ.
Watch out !

knicks1248 @ 1/22/2016 5:14 PM
So the coach with the worst record in the EAST gets a contract extension, and the coach with the best record in the EAST gets FIRED..SMH..Only in the NBA..Where the players and agents run things
