Anyone believe this or just more stupid rumors??
We have Lance and DWill at the 3 spot to backup Melo. Not sure why we would even entertain this.

Morris isn't a 3. He's a 4/5.
Must be more to it otherwise just a rumor. There usually is more to the smoke. Can't unload Lopez since they have signed Tyson for 4yrs. Maybe KO, Serafin or Grant. Maybe Brandon Knight, Bledsoe?

Morris is a combo forward and actually plays the 4 more than the 3.

Yeah if there's any truth to this it could go a number of ways. It could be a 3 teamer that could get us a point guard like J.Teague or B.Jennings.
As a general rule I stay away from players with negative win shares!
and who is legion sports? never heard of it
I'd rather the knicks go after Shabazz Muhammad. Its not that he is great but he is a work in progress that could be good if he change his game some.

I think MM for KOQ and Seraphin makes a world of sense for both sides. Morris doens't want to be in Phoenix and, well, Phoenix licks donkey balls and could use depth

The added $8M in cap space is a heavy price to pay for the Knicks. If it was Jose, KOQ I would think more heavily on that.

truthfully, I didn't realize this... I suppose that i would be for this deal if the Knicks also happen to pursue Teague with the intent of signing him long term too
I don't think the source is reliable. Morris's stats never jump out at you, and I haven't really watched him play much, but I do remember people saying that he's a good all round player and was a key reason for their winning a few seasons ago. However he does have a shitty attitude and has clearly given up. Plus if we got him it would mean either he goes to the bench as our backup PF/C, or Porzingis does.

Forgot about Jeff Teague. Knicks are probably trying to get a 3rd team involved

His attitude problems started when they traded his twin brother to Detroit and i guess it was so unexpected that he got pissed about it and it all went to shizit from there. He's been a productive player and the better player out of the twins up until that trade. If he could get back to the way he was playing he'd be a huge asset for us cause the dude can straight out ball.
This move would be weird and not make a ton of sense to me. You'd have to think they'd part with DWill or Lance in this deal, because otherwise they'd have too much redundancy at the 3/4.
I don't know. I think we much much much more need to upgrade the PG and SG slots than the 3/4 slots.
Weird thought - I wonder if they're trying to acquire him to flip him to Detroit for Brandon Jennings?

I would think Det would just do that... Pho could use Jennings with all their guard problems

Yeah, but Phoenix has two PGs signed to long-term deals in Brandon Knight and Eric Bledsoe. This deal would be about getting an asset for next season - maybe seeing if DWill fits their up tempo style?
They don't need another PG for NEXT season, especially one who is a free agent this off-season and would walk rather than be PG #3 on their depth chart. PHX needs to get something of value for Morris, maybe a piece they can build with going forward. Morris won't get them a first round pick at this point...
I dunno, just a thought. I doubt there's much to this rumor anyway other than the Knicks maybe kicking the tires and seeing what Morris would cost.
Thinking about it a little more, I think this trade makes a lot of sense:
DWill to PHX
Morris to DET to play with his brother
Jennings to NYK
You know PHX wants to move Morris for many reasons.
You know Detroit probably doesn't want to pay Jennings starter money this summer to keep coming off the bench for Reggie Jackson.
Question is - how much do the Knicks love their DWill? He's played pretty well for them. But Jennings would be a pretty damn big backcourt upgrade.
I don't see PHX wanting to sign Jennings this summer with Knight and Bledsoe signed long-term, nor would Jennings want to be PG3 on that squad.
Just a hyopthetical, but I think it makes some sense. Knicks might need to offer more than just DWill. Though, waitaminute, didn't DWill go to college in Arizona?
If I had to guess - Derrick Williams and O'Quinn for Morris.
Perhaps the Knicks are skeptical of giving Williams a longterm contract this summer. I think DWill would cost them around 6-8 million a year and they may feel Morris is someone that fits in better in their offense.
