If you aren't putting your team in the best position to win night in and night out then the process needs reevaluation. If Fisher wants to build a winning atmosphere around KP, Fisher should talk less about process, and more about making the playoffs.
So you turned his words into him saying he's throwing in the towel. So he's giving up on the season is what you're saying??
Thats what Fisher is saying when he puts winning second to the process. If you arent concerned with making the playoffs, there is a good chance you wont make it.
Do you think he's not concerned with winning every game?? Do you think he's not trying to win every game??
No, too much expirementation late in games this season. Too many games ROLO sat in the 4th for no good reason other than to see what else Fisher could throw out there.
Rolo sat for no good reason hah?? He sat because teams are going small ball and Rolo can't guard these smaller guys they have playing center. So that's not a good reason hah?? Come on now.
How do you explain KP sitting for the majority of the 4th quarter while Zeller and Olynyk were torching the Knicks on the perimeter and the boards?
Re-inserts KP, our best overall defender and rim protector, when there's only 3 minutes left and it's a 10 point deficit already...how dumb is that???
Did you watch the game?? KP was playing horrible last night and has been playing bad lately to what we know he can do and he looks way tired out there. Do you guys even watch the postgame show cause Fisher explains his reasons for why he does stuff and his reasoning for sitting KP was legit.
I believe that KP had our best +/- for the night.
You do hah?? He was -4 last night. The only two that had a + rating was Rolo who had a great game and Gallo who scored 1 point which came from a free throw and he missed the other one.
derek fisher as a player...

derek fisher as a coach...
he can’t consider it a failure if they don’t make the playoffs, believing the “end result” is not what’s most essential.

Sounds like a coach in the middle of a rebuild.

No way, dont even try. Lopez was sitting regardless of the lineup. he was sitting when the other team had a big lineup, he was sitting if he was having a great game. The team started winning as soon as Fisher started playing ROLO late in games. He went away from that and we started losing again.
Not all true.
I was watching closely enough to say that there was too often no good strategic reason to leave Lopez on the bench in the 4th IMO. I guess we will have to agree to disagree on that one.
Well i don't disagree totally cause i remember games earlier in the year when i wondered why Rolo wasn't in the game to finish but there are many occasions that teams play small ball or have a quicker center in the game that Rolo can't guard. So i disagree some and agree some.

right because fisher never ever ever ever ever ever, has a team match up to our bigs, he just benches our guys, and tries to match up against the other teams. How mant teams in this league start two 7 footers, yet were always matching up to them...stupid

well then we should hire byron scott

With the backing of his boss.

What talent?
Melo... KP... what else?
Not much more than last year.
Melo was out for half a season last year. Melo (playing his best ball) KP (ROY candidate) Lance Thomas (maybe 6th man of the year or most improved player) DWill who has been great off the bench. Lopez who has been the best low post defender we have had in eons. There is enough talent on this squad to make the playoffs.
In previous East years maybe but not anymore

Do you rebuild with veterans, because thats most of our roster
The only ONE that needs to go through the process is FISHER himself, he's the rookie preacher coach thats trying to figure out WTF he's doing... Most of the players on the roster have Playoff experience, and have played at a very high level...well at least the starters

This is a front put forward by a mediocre coach to plead to keep his job at the end of the season. He is trying to kill expectations just in case we don't make the playoffs

This fine as Fish paid to be the one. Comes with the territory.
I think he is doing OK job for second year coach with half-baked roster.
wrong. he is not maximizing the talent or athleticism on this team.
No you're wrong but it's getting to be a normal thing around here.
It is normal for casual fans to demand winning and play-offs.
But for fans who are following the team and bbal long enough it is silly to demand this from current Knicks.
One aging star, one great rookie, one solid vet, and 2-3 bench standouts will not going to win much in NBA.

it can win enough to get you pieces to trade with and that's the point...to trade for players that fit your system. but you can't do that by keeping the value of players that could work in other systems at an all time low. when you have already realized that they are not fitting your system, you maximize their value, trade them and get some players who would actually fit.
that normal enough for you, oh follower of basketball?
what is silly is the constant excuses from the blind fisher followers. if fisher knew and phil knew that he can't get this team to do much in 2 years...why sign melo to that mammoth contract? start afresh, i'd be more open to that. build through the draft then. but we have that option in 2017 summer not this summer.
so even if you didn't know then, but you know now that this team can go only so far in your system, why waste 3 coaching seasons and hope somehow kevin durant miraculously decides to come save the knicks? pay melo the max money only to realize that outside of 2-3 other players the rest of the team are not 2 way players, not fitting the system? yeah lets keep their value at an all-time, that should work out best for everyone. DWill is not going to become a genius overnight, Grant is probably 2-3 years away from developing consistent shooting, Gallo is a bench player (at best), need I go on?
stop making excuses and provide strategies / answers, or should we all just come back at the beginning of next season? smh.
