well melo hasnt exactly been a big attraction to free agents to be honest. Im not trying to bash him at all but its just the way it seems to be unfortunetly

Knicks haven't exactly had cap space to spend.

ONe big name left his team and he went to the Spurs. He also said he was considering the Knicks but didn't want to play center.

He also didn't want to take 'a little less' so that the team could add more pieces and was reportedly available at the deadline.

its not a bad thing to say melo doesnt attract free agents. The truth is very few players have that type of luring ability. Its not a indictment on melo

San Antonio attracted a big name free agent. What other players pulled free agents this past summer?

Again its not a diss on melo. If melo fans interpret it that way im sorry. I was actually trying to defend him by saying that its very rare for players to be able to lure other big free agents

Here's the thing, if it's rare thing for players to be able to lure other big free agents, than why even bother to say "well melo hasnt exactly been a big attraction to free agents to be honest", cause it's redundant and is in fact a back-handed dig on Melo.

StarksEwing1, I don't mean to be so direct, but you do this a lot: throw out a back-handed compliment and then back off it by saying that you are trying to defend said target.

If it's a rare thing to happen, then your statement has zero validity in the first place.

So you don't have a name? I know I don't. But we have discussed this before. The CBA makes it extremely difficult for marquee players to pass up the extra money they would receive if they stay with their teams. In addition some destinations that don't have state income tax are also more desirable (money does matter). In addition NY has a city income tax handicapping Brooklyn and the Knicks even more.

Are you watching the game? Just curious. Do You think that the other 13 players on the squad are just invisible to NBA players? Who the Hell would want to play with that garbage? I do hope Melo leaves so all of you are drowned in misery. Funny how when KP is asked about Melo he realizes what he will be left with if Melo leaves. Not a pretty picture for him. But all you high IQ basketball guys know better.

no need to answer ... he is not a big attraction because he is/was a ball stopper. Anyone who has played organized ball knows how annoying it is to play with a ball stopper. He has been better this season but now he just can't shoot. Not the star who looks like he could carry a team.

The triangle should be what we use to sell players on coming and sucking.

Fair enough. Didn't mean to hurt your feelings. Just making a point that the Knicks have not and will not attract any players with this cast of rejects. If your saying Melo is the reason free agents don't come here and not the lack of talent that play with him is just being short sighted. Do you really think NBA players are not aware that Melo is the only good player on the team, and yes now with a promising rookie. Not exactly enough when your looking at other teams that not only have better squads but more importantly, established frameworks of players that have played together for more than a year. How many different players have we had in last 3 years? Who do you think would make this a playoff team as it stands if we traded Melo for him? Even the high level guys like Curry and Lebron needed deep benches, fellow superstars and not just other teams bench guys.

You started it with your comment about Melo not bringing in free agents. In this cba no one is bringing in the free agents that I am aware of. A marquee organization landed the one marquee free agent that left. Calling Melo out for doing something no other individual player is able to do is what I take an issue with.

this past summer?
ONe big name left his team and he went to the Spurs. He also said he was considering the Knicks but didn't want to play center.
its not a bad thing to say melo doesnt attract free agents.
So you don't have a name? I know I don't. But we have discussed this before. The CBA makes it extremely difficult for marquee players to pass up the extra money they would receive if they stay with their teams. In addition some destinations that don't have state income tax are also more desirable (money does matter). In addition NY has a city income tax handicapping Brooklyn and the Knicks even more.
just forgot about it i give up. Im wrong melo is great and a huge attraction
Your words. I was asking you what players were huge attractions this past offseason and got other margueee players to leave their team in free agency? I can't come up with one. Not trying to spin it back to a tired topic.
i never said it happened this past offseason. But time to end this dude
You started it with your comment about Melo not bringing in free agents. In this cba no one is bringing in the free agents that I am aware of. A marquee organization landed the one marquee free agent that left. Calling Melo out for doing something no other individual player is able to do is what I take an issue with.
i didnt call melo out. Now you are just stirring the pot. This is the end of the conversation

well melo hasnt exactly been a big attraction to free agents to be honest. Im not trying to bash him at all but its just the way it seems to be unfortunetly

Knicks haven't exactly had cap space to spend.

I was referring to this,
well melo hasnt exactly been a big attraction to free agents
. That was why I asked you to name other individual players in this cba that attracted free agents.
