He's virtually untradeable. No one wants his albatross contract or his uninsurable knees and 33 year old body.
He turned 32 two days ago. At keast be accurate.Chuck has never been accurate when it comes to Melo facts. I have listed many times his incorrect information and exaggerated facts that add to his already delusional thought process in regards to this topic.
Here's some accurate facts:
1)Never won a MVP
2)Never advanced to the NBA Finals
3)Never made an All NBA First team or All NBA Defensive team
4)Never averaged 50% FG percentage for a single season
5)Never averaged 5 assists in a single season
6)Never made it out of the 2nd round in a weak east
7)Never had a coach on the Knicks that lasted more than a couple seasons (played for 5 different head coaches already)
8)Never should have played in that All Star game delaying much needed rehab helping lead to his god awful start to this season
9)Never should have resigned with the Knicks knowing we were in a rebuild, and would have multiple losing seasons, taking over a third of our cap, leaving us with likes of role players like Robin Lopez, Arron Affalo, and Derrick Williams to choose from (no offense to mighty RoLo fans).
10)Never should have insisted on that NTC that now handicaps the franchise that made him wealthy 10 times over, leaving them no choice but to sit idly while he collects unwarranted paycheck after paycheck until 2019.Should I continue, or are all these facts considered delusional or exaggeration?
after number 6, you start getting subjective.
You also forgot he has lead the league in scoring, and he is HOF bound.
Knicks are a high value franchise and he sells tickets.
Regarding his inclusion or not, you fail to demonstrate how if he was not a knick, how they would be better.
Melo is here no matter how many times you want to type otherwise.

Yes. In that vein, we won 32 games with KP. Whats your thoughts on drafting KP?

you base everything on past performance and what , melo gets paid. Your not listing what he does, which is score lots of points.
Im not here to defend his past, but you have understand the trade was done, not my choice of deal to have made, but its history.
Question is, can 32 year old melo, who had a good season last year continue to play well while the rest of the roster improves.
No 17 game season, no KP.

Love KP. One could argue if Melo sat a few weeks even earlier than the All Star Break instead of play through it, we'd have a better chance at Karl Anthony-Towns...

Yea. Not mad at the consolation 2nd best rookie in the league.
That said I'm still fuming over that 2 game winning streak in April that cost us Minnesota's lottery position...

The other way to look at it is by tanking, would we have angered the basketball gods? That's how Phil is looking at it. Also, would we have gotten any of our UFAs if the team hadn't built momentum? Would there have been any reason to be excited? Yeah I'd rather of had gotten Towns but at the same time I'm not exactly upset with how things shook out...

By the way, on point 7, what was Ewing's problem? how many coaches did he play for?
11) Never should Melo consider anything without first consulting the jilted dikhead knick fanbase. Because as we all know, they know best.
12) Never should Melo stay with a team that changes coaches. Like Lebron does.
13) Never should Melo play in any extracurricular game without checking with the group mentioned in #11 because we need his lame, useless, non-MVP, Useless Scoring Champion, Perennial All Star, HOF old carcass to help us win games.
14) Never should Melo show any loyalty to this knicks franchise because some people really may not like him. And his headband. Or his sitting on the bench posture. Or how rich he is. Or his face. Or his very existence.
15) Never should Melo make any more money than any of the security guards that that rich Owner-Other-DOUCHE-That-I-Will-Not-Talk-About-Unless-I-Can-Connect-It-To-Melo berates.

Crazy thing is, i agree with you. For many of these reasons, he is not someone you build a team around today. I don't have a problem with these things that you said. What i have a problem with is you exaggerating his age, number of games missed in his career, injury history, etc. I can give many, many examples of this, which you do not want to continue to be embarrassed. If you want examples, ask and i will list them. But every time i offer that, you change the subject. It's sad that you can't have an argument without changing some piece of information about him. If you say it enough, it becomes true in your mind. It's called pathological lying.

I know. There are only a handful that acknowledge the cold hard truth, like yourself.
The rest just keep take their ass poundings and like it. We'll be a phucking laughingstock team unless we tank again for a top 5 lottery pick this season to get a true running mate for KP. Then after real franchise free agent pieces are signed here can we begin to turn things around. Probably 4 to 5 years optimistically speaking if we don't phuck things up like we normally do.

Chuck, these facts you stated are true, so i have no problem with them. Now, i ask you a question, would you like me to list many of the things you have said that are not true? And many of the things that you have been corrected about multiple times, but continue to lie about? I have no problem with the things you say are true, but do have a problem with you lying or exaggerating you prove a point. The first example is simple, you know exactly how old Melo is and have been corrected about it more than once. Now, do you want me to list many of the other reasons? It's a honest question. I know you will ignore or deflect, but if you are going to make an argument about a player and want to be taken seriously, you need to tell it how it is, and not lie and exaggerate to enhance your point. You are dealing with too many smart people who know the knicks inside and out and will call you out every time.

Makes him someone who wanted to come to NY regardless if it was a smart or stupid decision.
The same motivations for him is available for everyone else but nobody has made any moves to come here but him. In his prime he could have went to almost any other team. Could have upped his profile and made the same money on many other teams other then the Knicks.
He has also said it multiple times.

who says that others would not have come? How many times did we have the assets to even make such a move? The other option was Deron Williams at that time, do you think that he did not want to come here?
