Knicks · Some dude called Felton is in the playoffs (page 1)

Was a Knick for a long time started off okay then kind of really tapered off till it became absolutely putrid at the end. Couldn't wait for him to go, Didn't do a whole lot in Dallas but now he's coming through for them. Happy for him, Yeah it's just one game. But that's one game more than all the Knicks combined.
fitzfarm @ 4/18/2016 11:57 PM
You mean fatten! He always had talent just terrible conditioning that's why he's always been inconsistent even in game... Perfect example was the misses free throws to end the game a 84 % free throw shooter for the year misses two clutch free throws cause he was visually exhausted... Glad he left us even though Jose is just as aweful if not worse.

It would be nice to have the cap room of $7.5MM that Phil added for the worst starting guard in the league to play with this offseason.

But, he was smug and adamant about clearing cap space.

callmened @ 4/19/2016 11:23 AM
this is why i cant take russell westbrook TOO seriously. cant let a mediocre guard like felton do that to u
SupremeCommander @ 4/19/2016 11:26 AM
his tenure was awful here towards the end but that doesn't change the fact that he was great last night

He was dealing with the horrible marriage situation. And being made the scape goat for the struggles here. His winning percentage as a Knick staring PG overall is pretty dang good compared to a lot of other over the past 16 years or so.

He was limited as heck as a player, but he played hard.

Que sera.

I wouldn't call Felton mediocre. Seems like all players that comes to the knicks drop in value. But Felton was a high pick for a reason. And when his game is on, he will look like a star, in short spurts.

Between his personal issues and physical weight, he was very inconsistent with us. The media and fans buried him further into depression, which usually results into over eating.....Everybody is not built to handle NY. Thats the difficult part in trying to attract free agents.

fishmike @ 4/19/2016 11:52 AM
he was really good his first time here, and really bad his second.
Nalod @ 4/19/2016 12:38 PM
If still here, Felton, like Jose would be our best guard.

Don't forget. He was really good the first time because he had the skill sets to flourish in SSOL with Amare. Push the ball down the floor and pick n roll teams to death with Amare.

Even then he was gassed after the first 2 1/2 months

All that said he's still better than Calderon. Felton was slightly less of a turnstile defensively. At least with guys his size. He really struggled against the speedier PGs though.

Calderon is just horrible. He would look slightly less horrible if Fisher stayed and they continued to run some pick n roll.

So it remains to be seen if Phil will come to the realization that we need a Jordan/Kobe type guard to win with the triangle or he hires a a coach that is more flexible and coaches to his personnel. Of course we don't have a lottery pick So Phil will be going into year 3 of 5 and still experimenting with a shitty roster.

Wake me up when the Knicks sort things out

dude is average at best. theres a reason hes a backup to deron williams...whos also average at best. regardless, my original sentiment was that theres no way a top 10 talent like westbrook should let ray go off like that

knicks1248 @ 4/19/2016 1:31 PM
felton turns it up in a contract yr, and he has done that his entire caeer

felton stunk this year too.

he did look great last night though.

I used to like Felton but I got pissed off with him by the end of his stint here. Don't harbour any grudges though, so I'm pleased to see him doing well.

he has? dude is shooting .400 for the season and 28% for 3pt land on 9.5ppg. He had 1 good game. Watch him blank for the rest.

not everything is about stats. If you watched him last night you have all you need to judge him.

yuck....he did have a really good game against us this season, and the couple more times I seen the mavs played, he had decent games, didn't realize he was that bad

didn't watch last night. Did watch him for 2 years though

BTW I'll have to use that line when advanced analytics comes up again

or you can just jump in and be informed Of course Felton sucks but it you watched him last night and are silly enough to judge him with your eyes then you may think that he is having a good contract year.
