Good news for Willy and the Knicks. I can't wait to see him and KP back together again.

Can you make this a little more understandable please?? So you're saying that we've offered him 4year deal at $4.5 mil but what's the other stuff??

Guillermo Hernangomez has a four-year offer from the Knicks and is likely to play in the NBA next season.
Hernangomez' offer from the Knicks is for $4.5 million and the 21-year-old is likely to leave Real Madrid for the NBA when his contract expires on June 30. While Hernangomez may not live up to the potential of his friend Kristaps Porzingis, he could be worth a late-round flier if he does indeed make his way to the NBA. May 12 - 10:17 AM

you think our current coaching staff can develop this kid, that's the biggest issue I have here?

WHAT? This is the staff that developed Bynum!!! Don't talk like the Knicks have scrubs running the team. They aren't losing because of the coaches. This is a common mistake. You put winning players on this roster and this team will win even if Spike Lee was coaching.
Finestrg @ 5/12/2016 11:02 AM
Awesome. That's less than what I thought we'd have to pay. I think this guy's gonna be a substantial step up from KOQ. Looking forward to hitting the ground running with him.
ChuckBuck @ 5/12/2016 11:03 AM
Birds of a feather...

Hopefully lightning strikes twice for Clarence Gaines in the advanced scouting department.

Knixkik @ 5/12/2016 11:05 AM
Great to hear. We need to build this thing specifically to KP's skillset. Adding his friend and teammate is a great start.

Naw, you got other issues that loom large here!

Lets look at this for a second, Rolo game evolved, and KP did pretty good. You should be ok with the job our staff did with bigs last year.
But I doubt you'll want to be ok. YOu have an agenda and have worked very hard to promote your distain for all things Kurt Rambis.

what player on the roster comes from a losing back round other then KOQ..

Coaching staff was responsible for

Turn AA into KOBE/Jordan
KP into hakeem
calderon into kerr, like he had Jordan or kobe in the backcourt with him
grant went from speedy to confused in a matter of games
Galloway lost all confidence and focus-ness just trying to be in the right place in the triangle
DWILL, 10 mins one game, dnp the next game, 17 points the next game, 9 mins the next game..WTF
KOQ, lets flip a coin to see when and if he plays today
Seraphin, looked good one game, then gets 6 DNPs

SMH

hiring rambis as head coach is like hiring a child molester who serve 10 yrs in jail, to watch your kids..your reason would be, I THINK HE'S REHABILITATED

SupremeCommander @ 5/12/2016 1:03 PM
I hope this means the team is planning to trade KOQ for a second or two

He was a Mills pick- Mills saw him while scouting KP, don't think Gaines had anything to do with this one

I'm just trying make a point dude, the coaching staff sucked as bad as the back court, if they didn't we would not be In this situation, Phil would have already named rambis the HC, or fisher would still be here. I'm just sick of some of you putting most of the blame on the back court.

If we had a better back court, maybe fisher or rambis impact would be overlooked, or if we had a coaching staff that said, I just don't have the talent to run this system so let me just utilize the talent I have in a way they will succeed, like playing Calderon at the 2, quicken the pace, playing 10 guys instead of 14.

why are you acting like those were not major issues.

I hope this kid can come in and have the kind of impact KP had

Obviously there were issues with coaching. I think most would prefer an upgrade at Head Coach. Still the most impactful aspect of any team is the players. Just a simple fact. Improving the talent would no doubt help a great deal. IF you think this team would still lose with 2 above average starters in the backcourt then I don't know what to tell you. The main issue IMO is most surely about improving the talent on the roster and yes appointing a better coach, but in that order. If they upgrade the guard talent but kept Rambis the team will still improve. Maybe not as much but there will be growth.

Both have to be address, can't fix one without the other. Rambis as a history of relying on vets no matter how good the rookies maybe. He flip flops with his rotation 65 games into the season.

The better your talent the less a coach has to really worry about in terms of rotations and in game decisions. Most coaches struggle when the talent isn't good enough to make clear rotation decisions. Fix the roster first and foremost. All the coaches we are interested in were FIRED. If they were miracle workers they'd still be with their teams.
