Knicks · Can Knicks lure PG to New York? (page 1)

This is a good article. I really think signing Hornacek and him bringing in a more faster paced offense with some triangle of course is gonna make us much more attractive to not just PG's but all guards and players so i really think they'll get another PG that fits what Hornacek wants more.

Knicks not interested in J.Lin or T.Lawson.

LeBron is going to freak out and want Melo to come to Clevelenad.

Do we say, ok cool. Give us Kyrie? Do we even wanna do that?

arkrud @ 6/6/2016 9:38 AM
Irving is missing something... Good coaching?
anrst @ 6/6/2016 10:31 AM
well the media storyline writes itself... hornacek can be painted as a PG whisperer, he played alongside stockton and in PHX he utilized 3 above average PGs in attack mode all at once.

not saying this is relevant or what i endorse, but i could def see this becoming the defining storyline of the summer.

They got nothing I'd want back but LeBron. They would have to get another team involved.

Older damaged good for younger damaged goods. Do the Knicks get a pick out of this, Kyrie is a decent pg.

Not sure why threads that have nothing to do with Melo end up being a trade Melo threads.

Be easier for Lebron to just play here.

I would have to see where wrote and grant have raise their level..getting another pg without getting rid of Calderon's would be a glut at the position...

Hornacek will get a good look at Wroten and Grant this summer as the Orlando Summer League is July 2-8 and the Free Agent Moratorium end July 7th.

The NBA and NBA Players Association have agreed to shorten this summer's free-agent moratorium by five days, a person with knowledge of the decision told The Associated Press. New deals struck this summer may now be signed on July 7 at 12:01 a.m., according to the person, who spoke on condition of anonymity because neither side announced the move publicly.
Teams were informed of the decision on Thursday.

Until now, this summer's moratorium was scheduled to run through July 11, with players and teams able to execute new deals on July 12. The moratorium - which exists in large part to allow the league time to calculate the exact amount of the salary cap and luxury-tax figure for the coming season - will run from July 1-6.

After the Draft JH and Phil will likely do their UDFA things and then get the players practicing for Orlando. JH most likely will have already seen Wroten and Grant quite a bit at the Training facility. This will help them to make final decisions on Free Agents.

I would say absolutely NOT but I guess that depends on who the aggressor would be in trade talks.

Knicks are picking up 8 years of age with Kyrie who is moving into prime years.

Timing is potentially interesting - wonder if moving to Orlando had anything to do with Knicks seeing Wroten in live games prior to FA period. Doubt it but it is interesting.

Kyrie is not a point guard. He doesn't have a passers mentality. He's got a school yard mentality. He routinely over works himself and takes on 3 defenders with his eyes only on the basket.he makes nobody better.

I agree that LeBron should probably just come here and run the point. Not happening though after the decision drama

It's a possibility and I wouldn't discount it. Phil and Horny MUST get some idea about what they have before they go into FA! This is a HUGE summer and if they like what they have it helps them going into FA not being in a bind. I hope Wroten and Grant Ball Out. We could use a break like that.

The Knicks still need more athletic guards n wings even if they like what they have in Wroten n Grant. The kids they get out of the draft n UDFA's will also be important to the process.

Conley is always hurt and is going to be priced off the market.

Rondo is a headache. He can't score. He would have to be packaged a shooting guard. Can we afford both?

No other point guard on the free agent scene is flat out better than Wroten or Jerian.

We could trade Rolo for a pg probably, but ruin chemistry from last season.

The Phil Jackson answer would be to wait and see. Let the right move happen organically. We need more talent on the roster in general. We will get it. Just gotta be cool

I always felt the team that is in championship mode is the least aggressive because they are in Desperation mode to win. They tend to give assets much more easily.

Adding one more legit player to Melo, KP and Rolo will make other legit players wanna come play with the Knicks. We're one more piece away from being the old Knicks that players actually wanted to come play for. Now i'm sure there's some youngsters on here that haven't been around long enough to remember those days but it's true that we were one time a destination that other players wanted to come to. Ohhhh the memories.
