I mean, it's pretty obvious but good to know that we are officially trying to land KD.
I still don't think he comes but we can dream. Rose/KP/Melo/Durant is guaranteed ECF and from there you roll the dice.
Edit: and that's our selling point. We can tell KD if he signs we have an easier road to the Finals than he would if he stays in OKC. Getting through GSW/SAS/LAC is much tougher than slugging it out with LeBron in an ECF. I know it sounds stupid to say that when Cleveland just won the title but if I am KD I'd rather go through one really tough opponent than 2 really tough opponents and 1 team that can steal a series when they play really well.
Whatever Phil...you haven't been able to lure and big names to NYC,because no one is gun ho about the triangle..were all set to invest in the same types he just traded...

That's a good point about the EC being an easier road to the Finals. I'm not trying to get all geeked up about KD (I can't picture him leaving OKC and we all know better than to start believing crazy things after the whole Lebron thing) but he's obviously the #1 FA to shoot for. I was thinking the same thing yesterday -- getting Rose might (should?) make NY seem more attractive, not only to KD but for other players we might have on our wish list as well (I really want Solomon Hill for instance).
LOL only way we're landing KD is in a NBA 2K video game.

What's it like living in such a negative life AT ALL TIMES??????????? You must be brothers with chuckbuck.

So what do you suggest he do? Not even try? He's doing the best he can to make something happen. Besides this is only the 2nd time he's gone into FA with the money to sign a top FA but last year they were coming off 17 wins and had less talent to entice a FA to come join. At least this is a better situation than last summer.
If he strikes out he doesn't have to panic. He can wait for the Trade Deadline or next summer!!! You really have nothing to be bytching about. This is a good situation.

Most sound minds think its a long shot at best, but Drose makes it just a bit less of one.
Seems like you need to protect your emotions because you don't like being disappointed when no players sign here.
People think that being "That Guy" who knows all the negative is seen as a "Wise Sage", where the optimist is the fool.
Most of are just hoping for the best and understand we have no input.
I can't see Durant coming to the Knicks as I don't see the fit. There is now way Melo would agree to come off the bench which is the only way I can possibly seeing it work, especially since KP is not ready to play the center spot. I'm holding out hope for Westbrook next summer.

What's it like in your world? Everything must smell like flowers and cinnamon all the time. Just like the Knicks history.

that's funny, you must be smelling flowers and cinnamon all the time too with your melo trade proposals too.
I don't think we're getting Durant.
But, sure, go ahead and try.

Don't tease me! I thought there was some news. That would be nirvana...

One thing... god forbid they did get him? It would be really easy to fill out the roster. You could see a lot of quality old guys come for cheap to play at MSG every night with Melo/Rose/KD/KP... would be fun times. I give Durant a 1-50 and if he signs he prob violates NBA drug policy.

100% agree we are in way better shape to chase top free agents then ever before esp with rose, melo, and the unicorn. Phil knows if he gets Durant we are a championship caliber team add the fact that even with Durant on board and rose leaves next year we have the money to chase top free agents again like Westbrook .
Since the curse of trading Ewing this is the best situation the Knicks have ever been in .

I just don't see Melo and Durant working on the floor together. I really can't see it. They like the same spots on the floor.
I also think it'd take a massive leap of faith on KD's part.
I really can't see it.
Getting KD would pose some fit issues, but what an awesome problem to have
Knicks pursuing KD?
Cool, I am pursuing my NBA career
