This guy confuses me. I don't watch much NCAA so I don't have much of a grasp on the type of player he is. People say he can't shoot but in every workout video his shots looks good. I understand everyone shoots better in workouts but the way he was shooting means you have to at least some ability to shoot it well. He was hitting NBA 3's like it was nothing. Did he stay in his role in college and not attempt any shots out of the paint or did he try and just missed a lot?

This is a guy that stayed in his role and also he's been developing his game. Some guys are late bloomers and I think Marshall is that kind of guy. He's peaking late but he's gonna be ready to contribute IMO. I fully trust Phil and his staff and also Hornacek when it comes to these signings.

Yup...I commented on the same thing...and his FT shooting was not good at all his final year. Good form/release, and a nice arc.

Makes little sense- even if he is not allowed to take Js in their system, you figure he does better than 57% from the line...maybe nerves?

Hopefully a pleasant surprise- and the Plumlee kids are pretty fierce competitors.

If Hornacek and Houston can help these recruits with their shots we might be laughing all the way to the bank.

Really are we really going to start pumping up this guy based on highlights of a pre-draft workout? I hope he makes it but come on.

Never thought of it that way...two of the better jump shooters of their generation.

Wonder if Hornacek is hands on in that way.

Me...I find it interesting that a guy I thought could not shoot the ball actually has such good form.

Guy is a high energy banger, with fouls to give from the 5 position, and he played with a storied coach in a solid program for 4 years...his shooting just surprised me.

Not sure anyone has anointed him as the next Bill Laimbeer.

We need a big athletic C. Tell me he's not big and athletic? He can run the floor and defend the rim. He can run PnR and it looks like he has more of a perimeter game than he may have shown in college. We need pretty much what he brings to the table as Hornacek has had his brother in the same role. He's cheap! Sounds like he's well worth talking about. This isn't like we're talking about a top draft pick so no one is suggesting he's more than he is, but being happy about a UDFA is perfectly fine. What is it with some of you guys that you can't allow people to find joy in getting players?

Horny started his coaching career as a shooting guru. I suspect he still dabbles in that when he can.

It is not just highlights he has been doing it during a lot of workouts. A Memphis Griz coach made sure to point it out during an interview about how his workout went. I am sure the coach was as surprised as I was.

This is a good choice. I think Marshal might end up being the best of the Plumlee he's very athletic tough and probably more skilled than what we saw in college. It looks like the Knicks were interested in older players with size and that's where they went

If this guy ends up playing any significant minutes for us next year at C, we are screwed...

This may be the perfect under the radar pickup. This is why i thought not overpaying fir second rounders in a weak draft was a good idea.

Plumlee is likely nothing more than a familiar name from a storied college team whose NBA players have come up short in the pros. He is athletic but yet his rebounds and block shots are not elite for someone displaying sucg great athleticism while playing 30 minutes a game. You can argue that he just settle into his role on offense but how did that hinder him from grabbing board and defending the rim?

Probably didn't.

Which is why he went undrafted.

What am I missing?

This guy will be our third C, and probably become a fan favorite.

Come up short in the pros? Did you watch the NBA finals? Do the names Curry and Irving ring any bells? What the hale are you talking about?

Did Seth Curry play in the finals? Also, if I say Carmelo has been a great Syracuse alum does that take away the fact the other cuse players haven't turned out so well in the pros lately? Duke is not cuse level but a lot of their players haven't performed up to snuff and are lacking defensive skills.
