He is athletic but yet his rebounds and block shots are not elite for someone displaying sucg great athleticism while playing 30 minutes a game. You can argue that he just settle into his role on offense but how did that hinder him from grabbing board and defending the rim?
Probably didn't.
Which is why he went undrafted.
What am I missing?
He's a UDFA! All you can do is try to find specks of Gold in the pan. If it was a player that was putting up big numbers they'd be drafted. Still that doesn't mean you can't find a great role player this way. He's likely better than he looked playing in a loaded college team. It wouldn't be the 1st time that a college big was in a college system and wasn't really allowed to spread his wings. Teams like Duke and Kentucky etc are Draft Lottery whores. They will feature guys that can help them with the next recruitment class. A guy like Plumlee is there to play his role and not expect much more than that.

Thank you. We live amongst some of the most Sourpuss Knicks fans EVER. Some guys can't find Joy in anything it seems. WTF do they come to a forum called UltimateKnicks for if not to expect that when something good happens people will actually be happy and talk about the possible POSITIVES! If you do they think you're saying every player is gonna be an All Star. There can't be any kind of perspective based on the actual level of each player. If they aren't Karl Anthony Towns then they must be garbage so why talk positively about role players?
Also for those ASS WIPES that say I talk positive about every player no matter what, did I go crazy about Baker or Harris??? When I say something positive about a player it's not just pure fanboy shit. I actually have legit reasons why I may like a player or not and I fully explain WHY. People only focus on the times when I speak enthusiastically but totally miss all the times when I haven't done that and trust me there have been many players over the years that I didn't express a particular love for.

This is Phil's version of the 'Marshall Plan' that he prays will never have to be put into effect lol

You can like this kid all you want. It still doesn't make him an NBA player.

We need a big athletic C. Tell me he's not big and athletic? He can run the floor and defend the rim. He can run PnR and it looks like he has more of a perimeter game than he may have shown in college. We need pretty much what he brings to the table as Hornacek has had his brother in the same role. He's cheap! Sounds like he's well worth talking about. This isn't like we're talking about a top draft pick so no one is suggesting he's more than he is, but being happy about a UDFA is perfectly fine. What is it with some of you guys that you can't allow people to find joy in getting players?
It's funny how some people get mad at others that get happy about things the Knicks do.

You can't steal my joy. Only a real miserable disgusting person would find something negative about anything going on with the Knicks. Thus is a positive time to come together and enjoy what's happening. You want to eat ass all day like a pirate whore. Go brush your teeth you scurvy mate

I can only reply with wisdom from Socrates...
False words are not only evil in themselves, but they infect the soul with evil.
and
True wisdom comes to each of us when we realize how little we understand about life, ourselves, and the world around us.

but were just being realistic (most of the time). in this case, marshall plumlee is NOT a good player and i doubt he makes the bball team in the fall. thats being realistic not negative
so far under phil, im satisfied with the progress and i think theres more to come. with free agency, i think phil will be smart and make the right choices
but in the meantime, sorry its hard to get excited about plumlee. hes not as good as mason or miles...and theyre not that good. lol.
i admire your enthusiasm and positivity (dont ever change) but if others dont share that attitude it doesnt mean were wrong. this plumlee SUCKSSSSSSSS lol
EnySpree@ 6/25/2016 12:22 AM
Every player that we get sucks... ok I think I'm being realistic. I can't wait to take a piss now to see if my penis got bigger

I was just talking about this kid. Don't know what they feed those Plumlee boys but they go hard!!! That family has some strong freaking genes.
All 3 boys are 6'11" or 7'. The girl. is 6'. Dang.
My haterz think i'm just liking guys cuz they're Knicks but they never seem to actually pay any attention to WHY I say I like a guy. SMDH! Can they just stop for a second and take note of the fact that we want to run and having an athletic Center who can block shots and also hit a jumper is pretty much exactly what the Knicks need. If this kid works out that's a nice thing to have on your bench. He might be a better version of his brother who also played for Hornacek!!!

Me...I find it interesting that a guy I thought could not shoot the ball actually has such good form.
Guy is a high energy banger, with fouls to give from the 5 position, and he played with a storied coach in a solid program for 4 years...his shooting just surprised me.
Not sure anyone has anointed him as the next Bill Laimbeer.
Why wasnt Marshall Plumlee drafted??? Back in the Daze M.Plumlee would've been a top 20 pick. We got to many CLOWNS wanting 7 footers to shoot 3 ball shots .. the NBA has gotten soft weak and has dropped down lower than NCAA college ball in the 1980's.
Every game i watch in the last two years of Duke, Marshall Plumlee presence in the paint let u know another Plumlee will be added into the NBA. Marshall Plumlee knows the paint area better than Porzingis ....

Hornacek had a Plumlee in Phoenix. It was a really good signing. He may spend the year in Westchester but I think he probably makes the team.

Someone was talking about Diamond Stone and saying he would have been a top 15 pick 10-15 years ago. The nba has changed but these guys still have an important role.

Plumlee looks solid. I am surprised he did not get drafted. I think he turns into a solid backup center. He probably is ready for 10-12 minutes this season.
