Durant, Melo, KP and Rose are 4 very talented players. Hornacek is a creative coach that will get the most out of his talent. Phil Jackson is here burning sage in the garden. Veteran Free agents will be flocking to the Knicks with hopes of being a part of history.
That's what a basketball fan will say. But what will a hater say?
They will continue to call Melo a black hole that won't play defense. They will say KP is overrated. They will say Rose is going to get hurt again and again... Hornacek will get fired. They will say the Knicks still won't win anything....
I say anything is possible.... What do you say?
Everybody likes simple things, like comic books or Doritos.
If you will be the one to choose between 220 and 177 millions what would you choose?
If you will be the one to choose to win now or may be later what would you choose?

You can't read comics and eat doritos... that's just ridiculous.
Money isn't everything... how much money do you need when you make possibly more money in endorsements than you do with basketball?
Win now or later? Wtf does that mean? You implying that the Knicks will not win if Durant signs here even after the Rose trade? Why won't they win? Detroit did it after they traded for Rasheed Wallace. Phoenix did it after Nash resigned, Boston did it after the KG and Ray Allen trades. Miami did it after LeBron cane over. Clevland did it after Lebron and Kevin Love came over.... so save it. You add Durant and fill out the roster with motivated vets and we will win.
I think that rose will stay healthy and that is bad for us because that would mean that he is playing.

why is it bad that rose is healthy and playing?

Dude, do you have anything to add to the topic? If not, please find a more apporirate thread.

Hes just trolling the board
Man what's up with the Ny post hating on the Knicks still ... Saying they don't have a sit down with Durant (when it's all over Twitter that the Knicks landed a sit Down and with the rose trade are a top 3 team on his list . Let alone hung out with Knicks staff at a night club and had dinner with melo ...
Why all the media hate still ... Why not sell on knick love not hate esp with false info like they haven't got the sit down when they do and are a top 3 choice
Don't think it's that far fetched..he would thrive greatly with this team and Hornacek's coaching.
we dont need Durant, we have KP, i did see his summer practice, you will be surprised what you will see next season
Does anyone actually think that Durant will even leave OKC? They were one game away from the finals, I think he at least gives them one more season signing a 2 year deal with a player option after 1.
WE are all just speculating. Most players are working out. KP is working out. Rose is working out. Melo is working out.
Cavs/GSW played 2 months longer than others and are resting.
Its logical that KD consider the knicks if he is pondering moving. We all know OKC is the favorite to keep him because of the financial considerations, a very good roster and strong coaching. KD stated his distain for the media and I would imagine will keep his thinking close to himself.
Fact is, knicks now have a very interesting big Three with KP having big upside. Rose is a great prototypical triangle guard/Pick and roll player and Melo one of the games best shooters. These are interesting elements.
Either publicly or not, he'll consider the knicks.
As someone mentioned, we traded players and still have our no. 1 picks going forward.
No predictions by fans or media state knicks anything but a long shot.

Yeah seriously, no chance Durant signs. I just don't see him wanting to play in NY. Westbrook on the other hand I could see it.

In the best case scenario, if Rose is reasonably healthy and trusts his teammates enough to share the ball, I think he can play reasonably well. Those are huge "if"s obviously though. I'm hoping he'll trust his teammates. Melo will probably demand that he share the ball (and have more authority than Butler did). We can't have 18 points on 18 shots (per 36) from Rose like last year.
Back to the original question of "what if" not "whether he will"
If they can figure out the fit they present huge (literally) match up problems
How do you guard KP and KD? And on defense that's a lot of length
I sure hope Phil and Jeff are creating a picture of how people will complement one another in a way the rest of the league is not prepared for
Honestly I don't see how the other teams do that. Their sales packages in contrast are a lesser version of what okc is already doing with the possible exceptions of SA and GS (which would be lame choices for other reasons)

You're comparing 6 years to 5 so out of the gate this is a lame criticism
Same logic has lebron staying in Miami

KD is an East coast guy. He comes to MD DC area all the time and loves NY. His endorsements will make up the difference. If they paid me 177 to play in the area I like with the friends I like....

It's huge gamble for KD to go for shorter money. He just went through scary health stuff and he knows that in 5 years he will not be a spring chicken.
Knicks are in the process of team building and even with him in it will take 2-3 years to get to the top.
And so many things can go wrong with Rose, Melo, and KP health that one need to wage his business decisions carefully.
If he just loves NY so much and believes in business opportunities in big market than it is a different story.
Also didn't Durant say a couple of years ago that he wasn't the biggest fan of really busy city's like NY and that he didn't feel that you had to be in a major market theses days to sell your "brand".
I think even if he had the slightest bit of interest in coming here he would of named NY as one of the 5 teams that he's willing to meet with.

Boston won a title in year 1 of KG/Ray being added.
I think Rose helps, but we really need one more guy. If we can get a premium bigman I think next year we can land another big fish.

He did indeed say that. He ain't comin here, which is fine. We'll find another way.
