Knicks · Knicks considering Mozgov as alternative to Noah (page 1)

I like the Moz. He's nowhere near the passer Noah is, but probably a better bet to play 80 games.
GustavBahler @ 6/28/2016 10:07 AM
Was sorry to see Mosgov go. Would rather go after Holford (more scoring) but if Mosgov can block out the other team's big men under the boards, make things a little easier on KP, that would be great. Thats what made Lopez such a good wingman for Porzingis, the willingness to do the little things that don't show up on the stat sheet. Still would need another big though.
KnicksMafia @ 6/28/2016 10:11 AM
We would have to 7 footers in the lineup. Mozgov is 7'1 and Porzingis is 7'3. Twin Towers lol

The more I think about it, I think Horford will be perfect for the Warriors. I really see him going there. He would be the ideal, but he's the ideal center for like any team in the league.

Holford would give us the scoring that Lopez couldn't, at least on a regular basis. It would be nice to upgrade the position in some way before the season starts. Holford would go a long way towards building a team that would interest top FAs now, or a year from now.

It's Horford not Holford, not sure why that was bothering me. He's at the top of my list of centers with J.Noah and if we don't end up with either and end up signing Mozzy then we beeter get another guy to help him like Cole Aldrich.

Interesting. Forget which poster first raised this idea. COuld be a nice stop gap veteran. Key would be price

seems like the type of guy to have on radar in case we're chewing up our current available cap on some sexier options at other positions

If Mosgov is healthy and able to play 70+ games, he would be a good addition.

He left the Knicks as a kid, and if he was to come back he'd be a playoff tested veteran who opened people's eyes in the finals last year.

Can't wait for the "Coming Home" video if we get him.

Right. Noah would be very nice, but our top priority needs to be at least one high impact SG and probably also a backup PG. The market is thinner there. There are some options for big men. If Noah wants too much money, we have some backup options.

jamp @ 6/28/2016 10:59 AM
I agree with signing Mozgov if we can't get Noah or Gasol. Another guy I'd go after is Speights.
Knixkik @ 6/28/2016 11:42 AM
As an alternative, he's a good option.
Caseloads @ 6/28/2016 11:48 AM
Speights if we could dump KOQ would be an upgrade. Guy plays with fire and has range. GS lost because they didn't play him more and played clowns like festivus

I don't think we should pair KP with a slow center. We just traded that type away. Noah, Horford, Gasol, Speights seems like a better fit next to KP. We need a center thats comfortable being away from the paint.

We had twin towers last year too. Rolo is 7'.

Not only is Sleights a good fit he's cheaper then Noah, Gasol.

The Iron Curtain

I like that!!!!!

The Mozz is a back up center. I like him and Noah both. To Me KOQ is a good high post PF.
Mozz has some good mid range on his shot. Loved the kid when he was here and as a role player I'd love to see him back.

Phuch the Warriors and that 3 pt shyt! We can have that, but a power game is never a bad thing. Cav's flat out wore the Warriors down with size.
Tristin Thompson was a big part of that. Not having bogut changed the series.

But it's going to be hard to get him, unless we promise him a starting role. Otherwise, I'm sure he rather stay in the sun, flirting with multiple championship runs.

this would be a smart move..

KOQ coming out of Orlando showed flashes of defense, shotblocking, rebounding, passing, and even hitting the occasional 3. Can he be a guy we develop into a low usage high efficient role player. If JH asked him to lose 10pds and looked to mold him into that type. He only cost about 4mil which would save us a ton for a deeper bench.
