Knicks · Wtf are the Lakers doing? (page 2)

It's not very often that big time stars leave their previous teams so it's kinda hard to sign a big time star when they always end up staying with their team that they're already on and when you have every other team in the league also trying to get that player. Guys like Rose and Noah might not be big time stars anymore but they're still really good players and they wanna play with the Knicks and if this team can stay somewhat healthy next year and make the playoffs and even make some noise in the playoffs then there will be big time stars giving us a much stronger look next off season like Westbrook.

They potentially have good young players. Sign two players to get up to the salary threshold and then dump them at the deadline and wait for FA next year with two more great rookies.
I think Randle is a bust and Clarkson has the potential to be a legit starter. The jury is still out on Russell. Deng is good vet for ingram to learn from as his frame fills out. I like Ingram's potential, but it would be kind of cruel to send him out to the wolves in year one.J.Randle isn't a bust. He's pretty damn good and think he's goona have a really good year next year and Russell really came on in the last month or so last year. The Lakers have some really good young talent but have a lot of work to do still. Deng is a good two way player so he will help but for me it's still the Mozgov deal that i don't understand and not because i don't think he can play cause i know he can play but because i don't see how he fits what L.Walton wants to do.
I don't want to get too deep into this, but randle has shown that he can't really score inside or shoot that well. He cant really defend. He can rebound like a motha, but that's the only thing he's reall excelled at. Imnnot saying he won't be decent, but i expect more out of the seventh pick. He'll need an dramatic improvement to justify where he was picked.

True but lets remember that last year was his first year back from major knee surgery and it sometimes takes players until year two of being back to really gets their game and athleticism back so that could be true with Randle so we'll see next year i guess but i really like the kid.
New inflation is making us all judging what we not know........
Better the lakers do, the more likely Phil stays and finishes the job.
Some of you haters might not like that, but then hating phil does not mean some unknown bright young fella will come from the Spurs and make mystical changes.
Isiah looms in the shadows. Be afraid, be very afraid!

How is Randle is bust? He averaged a double double in his first full season in the league this year (remember he got hurt in his first game as a rookie). Not bad for a #7 pick in the draft.

He was horrible on offense and defense. He got that double double because he was force fed minutes. He could improve, but he still needs to overcome the same weaknesses he had in colle. His J is weak and he's not really explosive enough to finish strongly against NBA defenders. I thought he could overcome this by playing some three like Rodney Rogers and Corliss Williamson did back in the day, but the Lakers don't seem to want to go in that direction. Right now, he's a more athletic Sheldon Williams.

He is basically coming off his rookie season after missing a season with a major injury. Give the guy a break, can he at least have a chance to develop before labeling him as a bust? Besides, it's not like he was the #1 pick in the draft.

That is so glorified inaccurate is ridiculous. Randle plays like Anthony Mason without the tenacity. He also has rookie flaws but you can't fake a double double.

We all see what we want to see. The Mase could pass, was a way better ballhandler and played D. The only thing he and Randle have in common is that they rebounded. Mase was one of my heroes. Randle is no Mase. If anything, he is a less developed Rodney Rodgers.
