Hornacek said he expects Willy to sign. I'm not worried about him.

What are the limits to what we can pay Hernangomez... still a 2nd round draft pick rookie max, no?

Marks is one of the best with this type of stuff...and if he's wrong he will get back and correct it or add to it.

Am I wrong to think that $2.9M for Hernangomez is not a bad number for him? That's the starting salary equivalent to if he were a mid-first round pick.

If we cut Williams we can't offer him that raise. That was our small chance of keeping him.
I'm sure Phil did all he could and had spoken with him anyway. But, I'm sure he would really really like to play here.
Maybe another 1 year deal? Free up some space by trading O'Q for a draft pick...

Even though i'm sure most of us wanted D.Williams back a legit backup point guard was much more important then him.

knicks have nobody to bak up kp6 at pf now. weird shyt.

Noah, Willy and KOQ can all play the 4 and the 5.

So, those who want to resign Gallo and Thomas (below average)but let O'Quinn and Williams (above average) go are not reading the scenario right. If Jackson is trading players, it should be sign and trades for Thomas and Gallo.

The rest of my offseason requires signing Williams and, hopefully Bennett. I dont think Gallo is worth his cap hold, even though someone may pay him. Thomas is a god story and a glue guy, but still not looking to give him $6mm.

Rose/ Jennings
Lee/Holiday
Melo/(Bennett? Room Exception)
KP/Williams
Noah/O'Quinn

Missing a bunch of 3pt shooters. But I think this second unit can still run.

You know who is #20 in the NBA in PER? Greg Monroe. You know, the guy the Bucks want desperately to unload. That's all I need to know about PER.

Nobody wanted Derrick Williams when we signed him. He's probably going to get 10 mill per anyway. We could only offer him 6... let it go. The Knicks will find a capable replacement.... Probably Lance Thomas.

G,Green played pretty good under JH in Phoenix

derrick won't get 10 mil per year. 8 or 9, maybe. but not 10. the market is drying up

There's still plenty of teams with plenty of money still to spend so i wouldn't doubt if he gets $10

Supposedly Miami is going to match Nets offer to Tyler Johnson.

I bet the Nets go after DWill once Johnson gets matched.

Wouldn't be at all surprisd to see DWill get 4yr $50M in this market.

NardDogNation @ 7/4/2016 6:41 PM
I'm okay with Jennings on a one year flier at $5 million...then you find out that Ramon Sessions signed for $12.5 on 2. Sessions is a far better floor general and has been grossly undervalued throughout his career despite being able to be a starter in a pinch. I'd prefer him to Jennings.

I don't think the Knicks could create that much space unless they traded KOQ or renounced Lance Thomas. Keeping Lance is essential.

Also, I think Jennings is the better player with a much higher ceiling. Jennings was great as a floor general in Detroit before his injury. He was playing out of his frickin' mind. IF he's healthy, he could be a HUGE steal.

We're talking about ceilings? How old is Jennings? How long has he been in the league. At this point, he is what he is. Same with Sessions. But I agree with you about Jennings' time in DET pre-injury. The game started coming easier to him before that stroke of misfortune.

I think Jennings is still only 26. He came into the league at 18 or 19 after playing a pro year in Italy. I wanted the Knicks to draft him after they missed out on Steph Curry. Instead we got Jordan Hill.

This has been the off-season of righting draft wrongs with Noah and Jennings. And even Rose. Hopefully not too late.

I think Tyler would count as $5m in each of the first two years of the contract for miami.

Brandon Jennings has higher career averages in points, rebounds, and assists than highest paid NBA player of all-time Mike Conley. That's a little facetious, but I think this is a tremendous value signing.

He can run the fast break, distribute, get into the paint, etc. very excited about this potential team now.

crzymdups @ 7/4/2016 7:14 PM
Someone was giving me a hard time about the Derrick Rose trade not being a draw for free agents. We got Noah to sign without even considering other teams. Then Courtney Lee and Brandon Jennings signed below market deals to be here. Lance Thomas is also talking about signing for less to stay here. Other than the Lance part, I don't think any of this happens without the DRose trade.

he has something to prove and he may get his chance in new york. i will be relentless in my critique and high in my praise depending on how good a teammate he is in every sense of the word.
