Don't sleep - Jennings has vocally dreamed of being a Knick his entire career. I don't think he will let this opportunity pass him by. He's gonna be very very very good here.
I have no problem with both... Some are terrified of resigning Rose. If he's playing well Phil will do the right thing. Talent is the most valuable commodity. KP and hopefully Willy are game changers because there is always an eye for the future, but a winning Knick team with veterans and stars is an attractive place to come and play. We should continue to draw quality old guys.. the Iggy's the of the NBA so to speak.
Love the Jennings add. No reason and he can Rose cant coexist long term on the same roster.
Man I love this. Our backcourt talent went from Calderon, Afflalo, Galloway and Grant to Rose, Lee, Holiday and Jennings. If Galloway, Grant or Calderon were on the team there may be a great chance none of them even break the rotation.
Huge props to Phil. He has stepped outside his comfort zone and given Hornachek full chance at getting strong point guard play to let him run those early offense he wants. The team will still run Triangle but with much more emphasis on dribble penetration and 3 point shooting vs post ups or post entry dumps.
I love this. I don't even care whether the team is not a contender or possibly one. We have a lot of talent and can push the ball and be a fun team to watch play.

Nobody wanted Derrick Williams when we signed him. He's probably going to get 10 mill per anyway. We could only offer him 6... let it go. The Knicks will find a capable replacement.... Probably Lance Thomas.

I am really glad the Knicks got Jennings. One of my friends is a huge Nets fan. He always says the difference between Rod Thorn and Billy King is that Billy King traded for Deron Williams and Thorn got Kidd.

The Jennings deal was a solid get. But according to the article I read Deron turned down more money on multi year contracts to stay with Dallas. Guess the home teams do get a discount at times.
I guess the Jennings deal was OK. I've never really been a fan, always thought he was kind of a chucker--low % with some of the worst shot selection I've ever seen, but I'll try to look at the positives: only a 1 year deal, quick and talented enough, a nice threat to have on the floor while Rose is getting a blow, should add nice scoring punch on that 2nd unit, a nice starting caliber PG to have around should Rose miss any time, could probably play alongside Rose at times. Not bad. Any lingering health concerns with him we need to be concerned about? I know he missed a little time last year..

I actually think the deal was good in the current because he made himself into a risk and basically cost himself 40 mil by being uncoachable in the past. He has the physical tools to be a good player in this league. He has upside. If he can buy in and play more under control (he tried at times last year) he can add value.
In regards to injuries, I think he only missed time from the prior year (Achilles). He should be fully healthy this season.
Not a fan of Jennings but 1 year at $5M is not bad at all.

The season Jennings got hurt Stan Van Gundy spoke very highly of him. I see him as a smaller version of Jamal Crawford with better play making skills.
Somewhat as a surprise to me, but Jennings actually has decent assist rates.
Jennings is a fantastic signing.
I don't think you can say we are a free agent destination, although we had a very nice offseason.
We gave Noah 72MM and don't even know if he's healthy, 50MM for Lee isn't bad, but no a bargain either. The names certainly provide more excitement and buzz, but let's see if Rose and Noah can make it through a season first. Both guys have been as fragile as anyone in the league at their position.
Love having Lance back but everyone we signed this offseason has missed significant time and can't stay healthy. That also goes for Melo and KP who missed over 10 games a pieces.
Certainly optimistic but everyone has reason for concern.

Noah most definitely has a knee issue and I suspect it will eventually need to be worked on. I'm positive the Knicks know all about it and what the risks are. He will need rest over the course of the season and really they will limit his minutes as they did with RoLo early on. I expect KP to play a decent amount of C this season. Depending on how successful that is it will impact Noah's minutes.
Hornacek will have to keep Rose minutes under control and having Jennings makes that an easier thing to do. The Knicks stated what they needed and went out and executed. That's all we can hope for. Both Rose and Jennings have motivation to play well this season.

One big difference between this crop and at least Dice/Curry/Bargs is we didn't use any picks to get this current roster. If Noah/Rose/Melo all combine to play in 30 games next year and the Knicks win 20 games we will have a great draft pick, and will have that with great players potentially coming back.

It would have been the Net's deal in a sign and trade for Noah. We give Noah the max, and trade for him and Rose for Lopez, Jose, Grant and two future #1s. I could totally see something like that.

They can hold onto their cap room to use in mid-season trades. Philly has done that before, like when they got Javale McGee and a pick for cap room at the trade deadline.
If they don't get to the salary floor, they just pay the players on their roster more... so they don't HAVE to...
