They are talking about on Hahn and Humpty right now.

Its a good chat. Nobody is trading KP. This just doesn't happen. He's a franchise talent. They don't get traded except for other clear franchise talent (CWebb for Penny).

But I guess since we once traded Gallinari anything is possible!

blkexec @ 7/5/2016 12:35 PM
Westbrook is a 1 yr rental.....KP is a young stud that doesnt have a ceiling.....thats how good he is. The risk is we might be saying the same thing 5 yrs from.....KP has more potential. At some point that potential has to be met.....basketball is a short career.....after 10 yrs your ceiling shrinks.

I dont see why KP is not unouchable.....i also dont see a scenario where a trade works in our favor. Lebron might be the one person. Does Westbrook make this roster championship ready? He had the 2nd best player on a loaded team and they couldnt win....

Never should we trade our future franchise God . Esp to okc for Westbrook. He's a free agent and if he tells okc he's leaving . Then we offer Noah, Jennings and our protected first ... Take it or leave it he's going to leave in the off season, will they make the same mistake they did with Durant and get nothing in return it's Noah, Jennings, and a protected 1st. Or we'll take our chances in the off season..

If they or anyone else calls about our franchise God Phil should laugh and say did San Antonio ever trade there God nope, and look how they turned out

Hmmmm, I wonder if any of the other 28 teams in the NBA could make a better offer?

That's the point why make the same mistake we made in the melo trade . KP is like trading Duncan you don't do it .... Ever.....ever....ever. Plus Westbrook isn't going to agree to a long term deal with anyone... It's prob la,nyc and that's it

fitzfarm @ 7/5/2016 1:06 PM
I don't see Westbrook agreeing to be in small markets like philly or Boston . He's a fashion guy it's LA or NYC .. He's not agreeing to a contract ext with just any team

Well, he's not agreeing to an extension anywhere.

I think if given the choice between taking Noah and Jennings and breaking it down, I gotta think OKC breaks it down. Do they still have all their firsts?

I'll tell you something else fans shouldn't sleep on.

Durant getting his ring and going right back to OKC.

I think something like that happened recently and it worked out pretty well for those involved.

I think it was a bit more than just getting the rings. He wanted to be GM and Riles wouldn't let him.

He should have let him. Probably would have done a better job this offseason.

KP is set up to clean up all over the court. That's what he needs to do. While everyone is battling to stop Rose and contain Melo... KP is going to run wild in the offense. Noah is going to be there to protect him too. When someone wants to try to get in his head, Noah is like Oakley in that regard.

Yep yep yep.

I'm so excited for KP to be able to Unicorn it up on this team. He'll have a lot of freedom to roam, which is perfect for him. Find the seams that the pressence of Melo, Rose, Jennings create. Catch some nice passes from Noah and Rose and Jennings and even Dad Melo.

I question any Knicks fan who would trade KP for anything. This is a gift and we must treasure this opportunity to have a franchise player for his whole career.

Love this quote..just love it...

Let me go on the record that I do not advocate trading KP.

My worry when the Media picks up a story like this, its because its been leaked to them from the FO or an agent and that there is a discussion taking place somewhere within an organization.

Now - I do wonder if we had some way of getting him before we made our bunch of moves - e.g., Grant, Lopez (perhaps to a 3rd team), filler, draft pick(s), but we'll never know.

Nalod @ 7/5/2016 3:00 PM
Don't worry about media manipulating Phil.
Lakers will go and get Westbrook for Russell and perhaps a high pick. Maybe even Randell.
Starphuchers like the Lakers need this guy. Ingram is like Durant and Jimmy Buss will hallucinate it.
Its a win-win.
But, westbrook might not want to work and live with his homies so close. Lebron went "home" to akron and he had a very strong sense of him in that community.
not all players feel that way, and LA is a big city.
Multigenerational wealth, then winning. That seems to be the order of priority. Nothing wrong with that. These guys worked hard for it. Money, winning, then legacy seems to be the chain.

Yeah I agree! There's no way it makes any sense to make a trade of KP who is not only showing every bit of potential to be a franchise player but is on his rookie contract!!! He is EXCELLENT value and already beloved by the fanbase. It would be practically a crime to do such a thing.

DrAlphaeus @ 7/5/2016 3:35 PM
If I told you KP was created in some offshore skunkworks lab by David Stern, would you be that surprised?

The guy is unique, epsecially the team he has around him and his passion for the game. He's not just some guy who grew 7 foot and figures I might as well do this basketball thing for a while.

ESPN trolling at it's finest. They cant really use the Knics FA period as a joke so they drum up some type of drama.
