My worry when the Media picks up a story like this, its because its been leaked to them from the FO or an agent and that there is a discussion taking place somewhere within an organization.
Now - I do wonder if we had some way of getting him before we made our bunch of moves - e.g., Grant, Lopez (perhaps to a 3rd team), filler, draft pick(s), but we'll never know.
Or it's ESPN doing its usual clickbait routine.

I'm not saying this story is anything similar, just I think its hard to not worry.
I will give you a point of reference. Look back and listen to Hahn and Humpty when the rumoir of the Knicks being interested in Rose broke. Rick was totally against it. Balls out against it. Once the trade was made he was all for it, to the best of my knowledge he never even acknowledged what changed his mind. I listen to podcasts so i am usually 3-5 days behind. I heard it back to back.
And I love Hahn and Humpty. Love Mike & Don too. But sometimes you can listen and hear some of these guys playing devil's advocate.
I used to listen to Mike and Mike. Mostly for the banter and Greenburg. But they NEVER talked something explicitly Knicks and neither guy is what I would consider a true basketball guy. And Stephen A. Look, there have been multiple time i have heard him use the term "box office" when referring to these superstars. SAS lets hype play into his reactions for transactions.
That is not taking into account his rant on Porzingis, and I am going to throw it out there, his....european prejudices, and possible racial preferences.
